Couple ring class in Haenggung-dong, Suwon: ETHER rings at Loventa

Last year, my boyfriend and I made couple rings together in Haenggung-dong to celebrate my birthday~

But... he lost the ring he'd been wearing so faithfully...... T_T

While looking into remaking our couple rings, I figured if we're doing it again we might as well make new ones, so I visited Loventa, a ring studio in Haenggung-dong haha

This time we promised each other not to lose them, please, and came back with our second couple rings made

Booking and price at Loventa Suwon Haenggung: are there really no extra charges?

I visited Loventa Suwon Haenggung through a Naver Reservation, and we had the Thursday 11:30am slot. Loventa's prices already include gems and VAT from the start, so there were no extra charges.

Loventa Suwon let us experience the whole thing in a private room by ourselves, so we could focus on making the rings without worrying about anyone around us~ And what I liked most while researching ring studios in Haenggung-dong was actually the price

The women's ETHER ring I picked had a lot of gems in it, but since I didn't need to calculate the gem cost separately, I was free to choose whatever design I actually liked

Loventa's ring designs, and why we chose ETHER over AXIS

At Loventa Suwon Haenggung, they bring all the sample rings into the room so you can try them on one by one. We went back and forth between the AXIS and ETHER designs, and ended up matching in ETHER to keep that couple-ring feeling.

Loventa had a much wider range of ring designs than I expected~

Everything from simple everyday designs to flashy ones covered in gems

They brought out all the samples so my boyfriend and I could try them on one at a time

We liked AXIS and ETHER best

AXIS looked pretty on my hand

But ETHER suited my boyfriend's hand better

We briefly considered doing different designs for each of us, but figured that would feel less like a couple ring, so we settled on ETHER haha

They gave us plenty of time to choose, so we weren't rushed and could try on several rings to find what actually suited our hands

How making couple rings at Loventa in Haenggung-dong works, and how long it takes

Hands-on ring making took about an hour, then the owner handled the finishing work, and we got the finished rings 1.5 hours later. He demonstrated each step first, so it wasn't hard even as first-timers.

After choosing our design, we put on aprons and got started making the rings for real~

The owner showed us how to do each step first and explained everything in detail, so it was easier than I expected haha

It took us about an hour to make the rings ourselves, and then the owner finished them up. We got the completed rings about 1.5 hours later~

ETHER glossy vs diamond-cut finish: comparing the finished couple rings

Since the women's ETHER ring had a lot of gems, we finished it glossy, while the men's ring got a diamond-cut finish. The glossy finish made the small gems stand out clearly, and the diamond-cut finish gave the center a subtle sparkle — both looked much prettier than the samples.

My boyfriend's ring looked a bit plain when we tried the sample, but once it was finished with the diamond-cut, the center got a subtle sparkle that made it look so much better~

We liked the sample rings when we tried them on, but once we put on the finished pair, we actually liked the real rings even more haha

Ring case and Polaroid: is Loventa a good Haenggung-dong date?

While we made our rings, the owner took Polaroid photos of us, and gave us the finished couple rings in a green case. It ended up being a very different kind of date from the usual meal-and-café routine in Haenggung-dong.

Seeing our handmade couple rings sitting in a luxe green case really made it feel real that we had new couple rings~

When my boyfriend lost our original couple ring, it was honestly so deflating, but making a new one turned into a new memory of its own~

This time we both swore never to lose them haha. Every time we come to Haenggung-dong it's usually just eat, go to a café, rinse and repeat — but sitting side by side making rings for each other made for a date unlike our usual routine haha

It started because we lost our couple ring, but this second round of ring-making gave us a whole new memory — I plan to wear these proudly until our wedding rings come along~
