On the way back to Seoul after wrapping up our Pocheon trip, we stopped by Manpo Garden, a place we'd been curious about for its reputation, and had a really delicious meal haha^^ We'd heard so much buzz about it beforehand that our expectations were high, and from the exterior to the interior it was all so neatly put together that we were won over from the first impression~ Visiting on a weekday lunch meant there was a solid lunch-special set, so we got to enjoy handmade pork galbi at an amazing value! The place is big and the staff were kind, so we had a genuinely pleasant meal — here's the full story of this Yangju galbi restaurant visit^^

Why we stopped at Manpo Garden in Yangju on the drive home from Pocheon
Manpo Garden is a handmade pork galbi restaurant on Goduk-ro 355beon-gil in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi, and we picked it as our last meal spot on our Pocheon trip. Finding delicious food while out on a weekend or weekday trip near Seoul is one of the real joys of traveling^^ We too were wrapping up a fun Pocheon trip with our whole family, including our kid, and had this place picked out in advance along our route back to Seoul~

This place already had a strong reputation among food lovers as a handmade pork galbi spot, so we had genuine excitement before even arriving! It's easy to access right off a main road and the route there is well laid out, making it an excellent choice as the last meal stop on our Pocheon trip^^

How big is Manpo Garden, and is it good for a family meal?
Manpo Garden is a large restaurant with wide spacing between tables, so it was roomy for a family meal or a group gathering. From the moment we arrived, the exterior and interior looked even more pleasant and neatly maintained than we'd expected^^ Stepping inside, the overall cleanliness and atmosphere were so tidy that we felt good before we'd even started eating~

In particular, the restaurant is quite large with generously wide table spacing, making it a great space for group gatherings or family meals with no drawbacks at all! To match its scale, it had a spacious, pleasant setup that could easily accommodate a large group^^

What comes with the 3-person lunch galbi set: yukjeon and yukhoe included
Since we came in during weekday lunch hours, we ordered the well-packed lunch-special handmade galbi set for 3^^ This set is a full-course lineup with 250g of carefully made pork galbi plus hearty doenjang sulbap and refreshing naengmyeon, making it a signature menu with truly amazing value~

Right after we ordered, the basic side dishes were neatly laid out on the table! The moment we saw the spread, we couldn't help but be impressed by how tidy and high-quality it looked^^ We were surprised to see generous portions of soft, mild yukjeon (pan-fried beef) and fresh, savory yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) served as basic banchan~

Besides the yukjeon and yukhoe, the various other side dishes laid out were all seasoned just right and suited our taste! Aside from the yukjeon and yukhoe, the other banchan were set up neatly at a self-service bar, so it was also great that we could keep bringing over as much as we wanted^^

Charcoal-grilled pork galbi with doenjang sulbap and naengmyeon
Manpo Garden's handmade pork galbi is grilled directly over charcoal, and the set comes with doenjang sulbap and naengmyeon. Finally the main dish arrived — thick, appetizing handmade pork galbi — and we immediately put it on the strong charcoal fire and started grilling it to a golden brown^^ The subtle charcoal aroma soaked moist deep into the meat while a savory, sweet marinade scent tickled our noses~

Taking a big bite of the golden-brown pork galbi with crisp pickled onion, the words "pure honey" came out on their own! The meat wasn't tough at all — it was tender, with the marinade's deep savoriness making it feel like it melted in our mouths^^

The doenjang sulbap included in the set was also excellent, with a rich, hearty broth flavor!

The bibim naengmyeon and mul naengmyeon (spicy mixed and cold-broth noodles) also had savory broth and chewy noodles that paired perfectly with the meat, letting us properly enjoy this Yangju galbi restaurant's specialty^^

Manpo Garden's dessert corner: ppeong-seukeurim, ice cups and final verdict
Manpo Garden's dessert corner had coffee, ppeong-seukeurim, and ice cups ready. Walking out after a filling meal, the neatly prepared dessert corner caught our eye right away^^ There was fragrant coffee, of course, but also ppeong-seukeurim — sweet ice cream over crunchy puffed rice crackers — set up in a variety of ways that kept the fun going right to the end~

We were especially touched by the thoughtful little detail of ice cups filled with ice so we could enjoy our drinks nice and cold! Thanks to that, we got to wrap things up with a perfectly refreshing dessert^^

From the delicious handmade pork galbi to the generous spread and the thoughtful dessert service, every part of this place brought us joy, so if we're ever in the Yangju area again, we're definitely coming back^^ You should all stop by Manpo Garden to experience the full lunch special and real charcoal galbi for yourselves!
