In short

Sol's dad has been stuck at home every day, so today we headed out to nearby Geobukseom in Siheung for some fresh air and good food.

Where is Bada Super at Geobukseom, and is parking free?

Inside Bada Super and how the Catch Table wait works

Inside, this Geobukseom grilled clam restaurant is clean and has plenty of tables. Still, it's popular enough that there's a wait.

After registering through Catch Table, you wait on the chairs out front. One reason this place has a wait is probably

the view. Eating grilled and steamed clams while looking out at the ocean view — of course it tastes amazing!!!

The main draw here is obviously the grilled and steamed clams, right? Starting right from the elevator, the banners are practically begging you to eat here, haha

There's also chilled raw fish soup (mulhoe), sashimi rice bowl, buttered shrimp, whole steamed octopus, whole steamed squid, spicy squid salad, mantle scallop steamed dish, cheese scallop (grilled), seafood pancake, and seafood kalguksu. They even have kids' pork cutlet and tuna rice balls for children.

Broth-style steamed clams, small: ask for no chili if kids are eating

Steamed clam soup base with scallop, razor clam, abalone, and octopus

What Sol's family ordered was the steamed clam soup base. We'd actually decided on the menu before we even left home, just from seeing photos. It's a generous bowl loaded with scallop, razor clam, abalone, octopus, fish cake, and cheese.

※ If you're visiting with kids and they'll be eating too, mention it when ordering — the broth contains chili. Sol's family asked for it to be left out since our child would be eating.

The steamed clam soup at this Geobukseom grilled clam restaurant is generously packed with seafood — scallop, razor clam, abalone, octopus, and more.

Cheese tteokbokki served as a complimentary side dish

The cheese tteokbokki (rice cake in cheese sauce) that comes as a side isn't too spicy — just the right level of heat — and with cheese mixed in, it's great to nibble on between bites of the clam stew.

The plump octopus is also cut into nice bite-sized pieces for us.

Table spread of the steamed clam soup as it starts to boil

Ready to eat!!! This Geobukseom grilled clam restaurant apparently uses a secret broth simmered for over 5 hours with more than 40 kinds of medicinal herbs, dried seafood, and vegetables. Sol's dad said the broth was so refreshing he ended up drinking about half of it, haha. The broth is refillable, so ask for more if you run out!!!

Bowl of refreshing steamed clam broth

I was going to just skip mentioning it today, but a good drinking snack is too good to pass over, haha

What to eat first: octopus and squid, then the rest after 10 minutes

Drinking snack spread alongside the steamed clams

You should eat the pre-cooked octopus, squid, and white clams first to get that tender texture.

After about 10 minutes of cooking, turn the heat down and dig into the rest of the seafood.

The steamed clam soup order comes with shabu-style meat — eaten wrapped with napa cabbage, this place doubles as a shabu-shabu restaurant.

Finishing with kalguksu noodles and kimchi from the self-serve bar

Kalguksu noodles added to the steamed clam broth

With all that seafood in the steamed clam soup, we were already fairly full, but you can't skip adding noodles to that refreshing broth!!! Between udon and kalguksu noodles, Sol's family added kalguksu.

Kalguksu noodles paired with kimchi

Eaten with perfectly ripened kimchi, it's a perfect match. Sol said she was too full and sleepy to eat any more, but she's a noodle monster after all, haha — she finished off a third of the noodles by herself, haha

Kimchi from the self-serve bar completing the final spread

If any side dish runs low, you can just grab more from the self-serve bar, so Sol's family got more kimchi and finished happily with a kalguksu-plus-kimchi combo. This Geobukseom grilled clam restaurant with its great ocean view — this is what healing looks like, right? Haha. We left talking about bringing our parents next time.
