Korean BBQ set with pork neck & skirt steak in Wangsimni: Yukseong

Today I'm bringing you my review of Yukseong, a Korean BBQ restaurant in Wangsimni 🐷🐮

It's a meat specialty place where you can enjoy beef and pork together in one spot, so it was great being able to sample a variety of cuts. Hope this helps anyone looking for a good BBQ spot in Wangsimni!

It's a 5-minute walk from Sangwangsimni Station Exit 4, so it was easy to get to by public transit 🚶‍♀️

Yukseong's atmosphere 🌿

When you walk in, the round tables come fitted with grills right in the center, giving off a cozy feel.

A pepper grinder and leather menu were neatly placed on the table, so it felt less like a casual BBQ joint and more like a place with some real atmosphere.

Floor-to-ceiling windows let you see clearly outside, so it never felt cramped — bright and open instead.

What I especially liked was that you get to choose your welcome drink from wine, soju, or beer!

We started with two glasses of red wine, which was a satisfying way to set the mood even before the meal began 🍷 A small detail like this really changes the first impression.

We ordered the Beom Set, which comes with pork neck and skirt steak together. It's a great combo for sharing cuts, perfect for two.

Staff grilled the meat from start to finish, so we didn't have to worry about anything and could just eat comfortably.

This was genuinely convenient — not having to constantly watch the timing meant we could focus more on conversation.

It seemed like a great spot even for people who aren't confident grilling meat themselves.

The pork neck had lively marbling and juices, getting savory with each chew, while the skirt steak was tender in grain but still had a satisfying bite — each cut had its own distinct charm.

Being able to enjoy both cuts together seems like the biggest advantage of the Beom Set. If we'd only had one cut, it would've felt like something was missing, so getting to sample a range was satisfying.

The beef radish soup that came as a side dish was surprisingly good — I kept going back for more. The broth was clean and refreshing, great between bites of meat.

Truffle oil salted shrimp and yuzu pepper pesto sauce set

A range of sauces came out alongside the radish salad — truffle oil salted shrimp and yuzu pepper pesto. The meat was fresh and juicy enough to enjoy plain, but dipping into the sauces gave it a whole different feel.

The yuzu pepper pesto in particular was tangy with a bit of a kick, cutting through the richness nicely, while the truffle oil salted shrimp had a subtle, savory aroma — an unusual but great pairing.

Eating it alongside the radish salad and pickles kept things from feeling too rich, so we could enjoy it all the way through without getting tired of it. The side dish pairings between bites of meat felt really well thought out.

I'd recommend Yukseong to anyone in Wangsimni wanting to enjoy beef and pork together!

Having the staff grill everything makes for a relaxed meal, and the welcome drink with wine makes it feel special enough for a particular occasion too.

The variety of sauces and side dishes kept things interesting all the way through.

If you want to try a wide range of cuts at once, I'd recommend going with one of the set menus, and if you're curious about the pork neck and skirt steak combo like we tried, I highly recommend the Beom Set 🙆‍♀️

It's also a good fit for a date or a meal with someone special.
