Spicy donkatsu for mild eaters: Yongsan pork cutlet spot Onjeong
In short
Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch is an old-style Korean-Western (gyeongyangsik) pork cutlet restaurant on the 1st floor of Richensia Building B by Hyochang Park Station in Yongsan, Seoul. Not good with spicy food, I ordered the Onjeong spicy pork cutlet set while my husband had the gyeongyangsik course with two cutlets, and the table also came with soup, morning bread, cabbage salad and green tangerine cold soba. The spicy cutlet at Onjeong was hotter than expected but still manageable for a mild eater, and rice and side dishes refill for free at the self bar.

Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang is a pork cutlet restaurant near Hyochang Park in Seoul, well worth knowing about.

Don't you sometimes crave that old-school Western-style pork cutlet? If you want the nostalgic, generously-portioned kind, how about this place? Let me introduce Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang near Hyochang Park, where cabbage salad, soup and morning bread come with unlimited rice and side dish refills at the self bar.

Where is Onjeong in Yongsan, and is there parking?
This handmade pork cutlet restaurant near Hyochang Park Station is on the 1st floor of Richensia Building B. You get 2 hours free parking in Building B's basement levels 2 and 3. (The parking time is generous, so you could easily eat and then take a walk near Hyochang Park Station afterward.)
Onjeong menu: what's the difference between a course and a set?

There's a hearty course style with two pork cutlets, and a set style with one cutlet plus udon or soba. I ordered the set because I wanted noodles with mine, while my husband, who eats a lot, went for the full course.

One menu item per person is required. Fortunately, children are exempt from this rule, so it's a popular pork cutlet spot for families with kids. The kids there were really eating it up!

There are window seats that are great for solo dining, plus tables for two and four, making it perfect for couples or families too.

Welcome ♡ Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang. Rice and side dishes are served as a basic portion, and if that's not enough, you can grab more from the refill bar. I don't eat that much, but having a refill bar like this just makes me feel taken care of.

They say this is what sets Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang apart.
- Uses 100% top-grade Doduram Korean pork loin only
- Handmade pork cutlets fried fresh upon order for crispiness
- Only thick-cut meat trimmed that same day
- Fresh oil managed daily
- The clean taste of a steam-injection fryer

So shall we dig into the gyeongyangsik pork cutlet and the spicy pork cutlet? Haha.
Gyeongyangsik course: two pork cutlets with soup and morning bread

It comes out as a full set, so just receiving it puts you in a good mood. Eat the soup and morning bread as an appetizer first, then finish both gyeongyangsik pork cutlets made with Doduram Korean pork for the ultimate meal.

Handmade cutlet fried the moment you order it, with sauce poured generously over top for extra moisture~~ The gyeongyangsik pork cutlet is soft and delicious.

The meat is the real deal. The class of a handmade pork cutlet!
Onjeong spicy pork cutlet: how hot is it for a mild eater?

I'm not great with spicy food, but that day I was craving a spicy pork cutlet for some reason.

Figuring I could manage even if it was a bit spicy thanks to the soup and cabbage salad, I took on the challenge!!

Dip the morning bread in the soup too.

The spicy pork cutlet was spicier than expected, but it felt like all my stress was blown away. Kids probably couldn't handle it, but it's manageable for spice novices like me, haha.
Working off the day's stress with a tingling spicy pork cutlet, lol.

Green tangerine cold soba to cool down the heat
Mouth too spicy? Then have Onjeong's cold soba, made refreshing with domestic green tangerine for extra fragrance.

Pair it with the refreshing, clean umami cold soba to calm your mouth down from the spice, haha.

Next time I'll go for the cheddar cheese pork cutlet and curry pork cutlet~~
