In short

While sorting wedding paperwork, the writer noticed her mother's worn reading glasses and brought her in for an eye exam, where the machine test was quick and the optician also checked for cataracts before they chose frames. With a wide range of children's frames, fuel and multi-child subsidies and Dongbaekjeon payment accepted, Barabon Glasses left her mother happy with the visit.

Why we chose an optical shop in Ilgwang New City, Gijang

Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch is the Gijang Ilgwang optical shop on the 1st floor of 107-3 Haebit 6-ro, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan. While going through wedding prep paperwork and samples with my parents, my mom's reading glasses looked so worn out.

She said she doesn't wear them much so it's fine, but I felt like I've been neglecting my parents, always using wedding prep as an excuse. My heart ached a bit. 🥺 Then I got a great chance to visit 'Barabon Glasses' in Busan's Gijang Ilgwang.

Inside Barabon Glasses: frame corner and lens corner

There was a customer ahead of us, so while we waited I browsed around a bit. The clean, spacious interior of Barabon Glasses is divided into a glasses corner and a lens corner.

On the left, the glasses corner had rows and rows of sunglasses, including Rudy sunglasses, and on the right, the lens corner was set up with contacts.

Virtual try-on at the contact lens kiosk

Beyond glasses, Barabon Glasses in Gijang Ilgwang also had various promotions running for contact lenses, which offer convenience and a look boost.

Way back in middle school, big-diameter black circle lenses were the trend, and back then hygiene wasn't taken as seriously — I remember trying on sample lenses before buying 🤣 These days there's no need for that uneasy feeling. Using the kiosk, you can choose price, color, diameter, and wear cycle to get lens recommendations, and even do a virtual try-on via QR code.

Mom's eye exam and cataract check

Now for mom's eye exam! The machine measured quickly and accurately, and the staff was kind and thorough, even letting us know simply about the presence of cataracts.

They were so thorough and friendly that it seemed comfortable for anyone, regardless of age or gender.

Choosing reading glasses frames

After the eye exam, we also picked out frames. Glasses are a fashion item these days, and there were products worn by celebrities too, with frames displayed by color, shape, and price range in so many varieties that we could choose based on our taste and needs.

Children's frames at Barabon Glasses

Unlike other optical shops, this one had, besides adult frames, so many kinds of tiny, adorable but sturdy-looking frames for kids. While we were getting our glasses fitted, lots of young customers came in too — it seemed like a convenient option without having to go all the way downtown.

Subsidies and Dongbaekjeon payment at Barabon Glasses

Honestly, if you wear glasses every day, you probably replace them often, and the cost can add up. At Barabon Glasses in Gijang Ilgwang, fuel cost subsidy and multi-child subsidy were both available, Dongbaekjeon payment worked too, and there's a review event running as well — so be sure to check out all the benefits!
