Today I happily returned, after quite a while, to one of my favorite spots in Marine City — Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch — for a delicious meal! Between the wide-open sea view, the classy Shanghai-restaurant-style atmosphere, and beautifully made handmade Chinese dishes you don't often find elsewhere, it was pretty much perfect, so let me walk you through the details.
Where is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, and its hours and parking
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is at 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, on the 2nd floor above Suybeon Choego Pork Soup. It's open daily 11:00-22:00 with a break time of 15:30-17:00, and parking is available both at the beachside and within the building.

It sits right along the Marine City coastal road, so it's very easy to get to and fits perfectly into a walk along the beach before or after your meal. If you walk along the coast, you'll spot it between two famous local spots, Pungwonjang Miyeokguk and Suybeon Choego Pork Soup, where there's a dedicated Bueokgan Chinese elevator that takes you straight up to the 2nd floor.

Ocean-view window seats, private rooms and high chairs at Bueokgan Chinese
Nearly every seat at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch has an ocean view. The moment the elevator doors open and you step inside, the polished, upscale interior grabs your attention instantly. You get a fantastic view taking in Marine City's tall, glamorous skyline together with the blue Haeundae sea!
Soft, calm lighting paired with sophisticated furniture creates an exotic yet refined mood, as if you'd walked into a top-tier Shanghai restaurant. The seats we were guided to were ocean-view seats where you could see the open sea from almost anywhere in the room.
Being able to enjoy the meal at a relaxed pace while looking out at the sparkling sea the whole time really boosted how much we enjoyed the food! The group seating area toward the back of the restaurant was a lovely spot where you can enjoy both a green forest view and a cool ocean view at once.

The private room space was also well put together, and it looked more than suitable for family gatherings, group events, or company dinners. Baby chairs are thoughtfully provided too, so families with young children can visit without worry. If it's an important meal, I'd strongly recommend booking a window seat or a private room ahead of time.

What comes with the weekday lunch set?
The weekday lunch set at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is available from 11:00 to 15:00, and we ordered 200g tangsuyuk, poached-egg oyeopgyeol ganjajang, and beef brisket jjamppong (+₩2,000). The most standout thing about this Marine City favorite is the chance to try distinctive, refined dishes you won't easily find at a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant.
From poached-egg ganjajang to cilantro mala jjamppong, black vinegar tangsuyuk, and dongpo pork, the menu is packed with original recipes — the moment you open it, you're happily stuck deciding what to order. We went with the weekday lunch set to get a satisfying, well-rounded meal at good value!

- Weekday lunch set (11:00-15:00)
- 200g tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)
- Poached-egg oyeopgyeol ganjajang (black bean noodles with pork belly)
- Beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup, +₩2,000)
Ganjajang with a poached egg and five-layer pork
Bueokgan Chinese's poached-egg oyeopgyeol ganjajang is a classic, traditional-style jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) made by slow-cooking thick, high-quality pork belly with fresh onion and cabbage over low heat, almost like a long simmer. The moment it landed on the table, the big chunks of vegetables and that rich, smoky black bean sauce aroma hit my nose hard.

The thick pork belly is charcoal-grilled to give it a real smoky flavor, so every bite had deep flavor and juiciness. I popped the runny poached egg on top and mixed it through the whole bowl before tasting.

Popping the poached egg and mixing it all in.
The thick, chewy hand-pulled noodles made fresh in-house were far chewier than typical jjajangmyeon noodles and held the sauce beautifully! One big bite filled my mouth with that savory bean-sauce aroma and umami, and the balance between sweetness and saltiness was so on point I never got tired of it — I kept eating in awe.

Black vinegar tangsuyuk made with pork loin
Bueokgan Chinese's black vinegar tangsuyuk is made with a special sauce using premium Chinese black vinegar, giving it a deep, rich flavor.

Some might worry the name 'black vinegar' means it's very sour, but contrary to expectations, there's no overpowering tanginess at all — instead a savory, elegant sweetness gently coats your mouth.

The freshly fried meat was crispy outside and really juicy inside. The coating wasn't a thick flour batter — it felt like it was packed with meat, so my chopsticks kept going back for more without hesitation. Best of all, the black vinegar sauce itself was so good I dipped every last piece and cleaned the plate.

Eohyang mandu (fish-fragrant dumplings), free from the review event
Bueokgan Chinese offers eohyang mandu (fish-fragrant dumplings) as part of its review event. It's a combination of doubanjiang-based eohyang sauce — spicy, sweet, and savory — stir-fried and paired with crispy fried dumplings packed with meat filling. It made me smile to think such a well-made, high-quality dumpling is being given away as a review-event freebie — that's some generosity from the owner!

It was so well made that it felt like a shame it's not on the official side-dish menu — if it ever becomes a permanent item, I'd love to order it as a standalone dish every time I visit. I'd definitely recommend joining the review event to try this eohyang mandu for yourself.

Beef brisket jjamppong
The beef brisket jjamppong we chose by adding ₩2,000 to the lunch set had a rich, deep-looking broth from the very first glance, and the moment I took a big spoonful, I couldn't help but let out an 'ah' of satisfaction.
The smoky, cool yet hearty broth was excellent. The rich flavor drawn out from the savory beef brisket blended perfectly with the spicy, refreshing broth, giving it a heartiness and appeal that's on a completely different level from a typical seafood jjamppong.

The beef was piled in generously, so the portion was plentiful, and the handmade noodles soaked up that deep, smoky broth so well that I finished it down to the last drop feeling completely satisfied.

Who is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch best for?

I'd strongly and confidently recommend it to couples looking for a great-atmosphere date spot near Marine City, anyone searching for a refined place to take their parents out for a family meal, or anyone deciding on a venue for an important business gathering.
