I had plans near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station, and what else would we eat but meat? We wanted grilled meat with a shot of soju! On a day when I wanted something a bit juicier and more tender than samgyeopsal (pork belly), I went looking for a Gwangmyeong Sageori Station restaurant where staff grill the meat for you, and ended up at Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch.
There'd be no risk of the person grilling missing out on eating, and it looked good for two people to chat comfortably while eating, so I decided on it for dinner after work. To cut to the verdict: the juicy texture of the teukmoksal (premium pork neck) was memorable, and having staff grill it for us made the whole meal really comfortable.

Where is Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch, and what are the seats like?
Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch is a good spot when you're looking for a dinner or gathering place near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station. It's in the Gwangmyeong Sageori food alley, so it's convenient for finding a second-round spot afterward, and it also looked fine for meetups reached by public transit. I took the bus there myself haha.
When looking for a Gwangmyeong Sageori Station meat restaurant, taste matters, but so do accessibility, seating, and whether it can handle groups. This place was good for two people, but there were also tables for larger groups, so it seemed like it would work well for office dinners or friend gatherings. In fact, there was a company dinner table there the day we visited, but we were seated apart from it so we could enjoy our meal without the noise!
What two people ordered at Sammokjip

There were two of us, and we ordered three servings of teukmoksal and chadol doenjang jjigae. We started with two servings and added one more!
- 3 servings of teukmoksal (premium pork neck)
- Chadol doenjang jjigae (beef brisket soybean paste stew)
- Party of 2
Once we finished ordering, they set out the side dishes

and put in the charcoal too haha.

Teukmoksal grilled at the table by Sammokjip staff
The teukmoksal at Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch looked appetizing from the thickness alone. As soon as the meat came out, I thought, "if this is grilled well, it'll be really good" — and sure enough, the staff member checked the grill and cut it into bite-sized pieces for us.

At meat restaurants, it's common to get distracted talking and end up burning the meat, but here I didn't have to worry about timing at all, which was a huge relief. Texture really can vary a lot depending on who's grilling and how. With the staff constantly checking the grilling and the grill's condition, the pork neck kept its moisture while the surface cooked up nice and appetizing.

How thick-cut teukmoksal tastes at this Gwangmyeong Sageori grill
I took my first bite and was surprised at how much juicier it was than I expected. Pork neck can end up dry if grilled poorly, but Sammokjip's teukmoksal had a tender inside with plenty of juiciness.

It was thick enough to still have a good chew, but there was almost no toughness or dryness. "Can pork neck really be this juicy?" — we were both impressed from the very first bite haha. Since we didn't have to grill it ourselves, we could eat each piece hot as it came out, and the conversation never got interrupted either, which was great.
We ordered three servings of teukmoksal, and it was a satisfying dinner portion for two. If you like juicy pork neck, teukmoksal might be worth trying first among the meat restaurants near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station.

Was the chadol doenjang jjigae worth adding?
Along with the meat, we ordered chadol doenjang jjigae.

When you're eating nothing but meat, at some point you start craving warm broth or rice, and this dish is great for that moment. The savory doenjang broth combined with the rich flavor of the beef brisket paired well with the teukmoksal too. A bite of meat followed by a spoonful of hot chadol doenjang jjigae had me thinking, "yeah, this is the combo at a meat restaurant!"
If three servings of teukmoksal alone feel a bit light, or if you want a heartier dinner, I'd recommend adding the chadol doenjang jjigae too. We were already so full we couldn't manage the fried rice, which I really regret ㅠ
Sammokjip as a group dinner spot near Gwangmyeong Sageori
Sammokjip Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch seemed especially convenient for company dinners because staff grill the meat for you.

At typical company dinners, the youngest employee or one specific person often ends up stuck grilling the whole time, but here everyone could focus on eating and talking. Considering the accessibility near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station, the meat menu, and the staff-grilling service, this seems like a solid option for anyone looking for a company dinner spot in Gwangmyeong Sageori.
It was comfortable for two of us, but I imagine the advantages would show even more with a larger group. It seems like a great fit especially for people who love juicy pork neck, or anyone who wants to eat without the hassle of grilling themselves, or who's looking for a good meat restaurant near Gwangmyeong Sageori Station.
