In short
Nohyeong Supermarket is an immersive media art exhibition space of about 1,200 pyeong on Nohyeong-ro in Jeju City, near Jeju Airport. When you look for things to do with kids in Jeju, there are so many trendy media art spots these days haha. This time we visited Nohyeong Supermarket, an indoor media art exhibition you can enjoy comfortably no matter the weather.

Nohyeong Supermarket near Jeju Airport — what is it?
Nohyeong Supermarket is an immersive media art exhibition space in Jeju City. You can take in the media art in a huge space of about 1,200 pyeong with a ceiling height reaching around 20m.^^
The parking lot is spacious too. It seemed like a lot of students come for school trip group visits. Lots of tour buses^^

Being near Jeju Airport, it's convenient to fit in on the day you land or before you head back. And since it's an indoor attraction, on rainy or windy days,

it's also great when walking around outdoors at midday feels like too much.^^ When you're traveling in Jeju, the weather sometimes forces you to suddenly change plans, right? This is a Jeju City attraction worth remembering for those moments.

Got our tickets and headed in^^
An entrance like an old-school supermarket: Nohyeong Dabang and Nohyeong Jabhwajeom

Walking into the entrance of Nohyeong Supermarket, from the outside it starts off looking like an old-fashioned supermarket. Following the stairs up, there are so many nostalgic old photos~~ Even I, born in the 80s... really really... miss those older scenes from society haha.
An old supermarket? Even the name is a bit unusual. Haha.

The entrance is decorated to feel like you're passing through a monochrome Nohyeong Dabang (다방, old-style tea room) and Nohyeong Jabhwajeom (잡화점, general store).

Passing through this monochrome space and going further inside, suddenly vivid light and color appear and the whole mood flips haha.
Whoa, surprise!! Let's go in haha, come on!

It felt like moving from a monochrome space into a space full of color, so it was fun exploring with the kids too.
The overwhelming large-scale media art
And going further in, Nohyeong Supermarket's media art begins!!! The footage filling the huge screen keeps changing, and the actual scale of the space felt much bigger than photos can show.

The scale is overwhelming

From painting-like images to flowers and nature, to futuristic robot footage, the mood keeps changing. This one genuinely looked like it was going to pop out at us, kind of scary lol.
The footage isn't limited to one screen either — it spreads across the whole space^^ The media art I saw in Gangneung was cute-level by comparison haha. You get overwhelmed by the scale^^ So many different moods in one place. Haha.

And every time the kids ran around, the walls and floor lit up in response, so it was great for burning off their energy too^^
Jeju in mid-September still felt as hot as midday on the mainland. So on top of cooling off, being able to enjoy media art indoors like this makes it a space worth recommending even on rainy days.
Wait for the screen to change before you shoot
At Nohyeong Supermarket, enjoying the media art is nice, but taking photos was a huge part of it too~~^^ Everything's so pretty T_T
Rather than just walking through quickly watching the exhibit, wait a bit for the screen to change and shoot the scene you like.^^
Tea time at Nohyeong Dabang and goods at Nohyeong Jabhwajeom after the exhibit
At the end, we came out and enjoyed Nohyeong Dabang. You can carry drinks into the exhibition hall, but since we were worried the kids might spill, we had our tea time after finishing the exhibit!

The Nohyeong Jabhwajeom corner is a must-stop too, lol.

There's a variety of goods, and since there were keyrings and keycaps the kids liked, we each ended up grabbing one more...^^;; haha.
An exhibit three generations can enjoy together, from toddlers to grandparents
Nohyeong Supermarket is an exhibit that toddlers and parents alike can enjoy together. It's nice that age doesn't really matter for touring it — from preschoolers to parents over 65, everyone had a great time.
It's worth remembering as a Jeju City attraction not just for rainy days, but also when it's too hot at midday or outdoor plans feel tough. If you're looking for something to do in Jeju City with kids near Jeju Airport, consider adding Nohyeong Supermarket to your Jeju travel itinerary.^^
