Sister friendship rings in 2 hours at Seongsu ring workshop: Robenta

In short

Robenta Seongsu is a ring-making workshop in Seongdong, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3, on the 3rd floor of the building. Visiting with her younger sister, the writer chose the Engage women's model and the Klat women's model, both in a polished finish, as matching friendship and family rings, and picked them up the same day after 1 hour of hands-on making plus 1 hour of finishing work, 2 hours in total. Robenta Seongsu lists prices with VAT and stones included, which made choosing a design easy, and the rings looked so store-bought that the writer wants to make couple rings there next.

To remember a special day, there's nothing better than an experience where two people make something together and build a memory. This time I went to a ring workshop with my sister to make friendship rings — family rings, really — and I loved both the process and the result so much that I want to leave a very honest review of Robenta Seongsu.

Where is Robenta Seongsu and how do you find the entrance?

Robenta Seongsu is less than a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3. It's on the 3rd floor of the building.

One thing to watch out for: if you follow Naver Maps, you'll end up at the spot in the photo on the left, where there are stairs — but there's a banner there saying this isn't the Robenta entrance. My sister and I burst out laughing the moment we saw it and had to walk back around. Everyone take note!! You need to go around the right side of the building and enter near the real estate office.

This is the entrance you get to once you go around to the right. Make sure you go in this way so you don't waste a trip like we did haha.

Once you get up to the 3rd floor, the entrance itself already greets you with a pretty, upscale look befitting a high-end workshop.

It's a workshop big enough for about 7 pairs (2 people each) to work at the same time. In winter there's a hanger for coats too, so you can hang up any heavy bags and have both hands free for the experience.

Choosing a design: prices include VAT and the stone

Once the signing is done, next comes deciding on today's ring design! There are really so many designs. Robenta Seongsu says a jewelry designer with 30 years of experience personally designs and inspects every piece. Their designs range from simple ones all the way to unique styles good enough to be wedding rings. What I liked most, though, was the transparent pricing. A lot of places don't disclose prices at all, or only show the design price with stones and VAT charged separately — but Robenta shows a price that already includes VAT and stones, so I could pick comfortably from the start.

A range of ring samples from simple to unique designs

My sister and I are both fans of simple designs, so we agonized over what to pick together. We tried the rings on our actual fingers, carefully weighing which one suited us, and finally decided. I chose the Engage women's model, my sister chose the Klat women's model. Both done in polished finish, just like the samples!

Engage and Klat sample rings tried on for size

After picking the rings, we moved seats again, put on aprons and gloves in our size, and once we were ready a staff member came over.

And of course you have to take a mirror shot~~ If you come as a couple, you know they'll dress you both in aprons and it gets all cute and lovey-dovey? That's exactly how love blooms haha. And if you come with family, doing something like this together makes you closer too (?)

Making the rings by hand takes about 1 hour

The staff member brought over rings sized to each of us, explained the tools, and walked us through the steps we had to do ourselves as the experience went on.

The whole time we were making them, my sister and I kept saying things like is this right? are we doing okay? we've ruined it!! — but the staff kept telling us we were doing great, which gave us the courage to keep going. Even I could tell I wasn't doing a great job, but they kept encouraging me anyway, and I was so grateful for that. So kind.

That's how we finished making our rings — the hands-on part took about 1 hour. Since Robenta operates on a same-day completion principle, the staff then spent another hour finishing the rings, so pickup was possible after 2 hours total.

How good are the rings picked up the same day?

About an hour later we got a call, and when we arrived, our finished rings were waiting for us. Wow, the moment we saw them, both of us were like, is this really what we made? Doesn't it look like something you'd buy in a store? The quality was seriously no joke. The finish and the shine were incredible — the professional finishing work turned them into such pretty rings, ugh....

Ta-da! What do you think? The moment my sister and I took this photo, we both declared we should become photographers lol. They also packaged them in premium packaging, and the moment I saw it, I thought, ah, I have to get couple rings made here next time.

They're done! Pretty, right??? I'm still wearing mine now, and it sparkles on my finger and makes me so happy.

They also gave us care and A.S. instructions along with a cloth for wiping off scratches or dirt, so I think I'll be able to take good care of it at home.

Why Robenta Seongsu works for friendship rings and family rings

The designs were more varied than I expected, and above all the quality was so good that it works just as well for couple rings, friendship rings between friends, or family rings — Robenta Seongsu is a ring workshop where everyone can leave satisfied. My current couple ring is scratched up and discolored, and after this I really, really want to go back with my partner to make a new one. Robenta really won me over — I highly recommend it.

You're not going to wear a couple ring for just a moment, right? Since you're getting one made anyway, even if it costs a little more, go somewhere that uses inspected silver, guarantees professional finishing, and offers a variety of pretty designs so you can make a ring that's uniquely yours as a couple. Go to Seongsu, get your rings made, eat something delicious, then head to a pretty café or bar for the perfect date course!!! (This one's genuinely the date I want to go on lol)
