Mini Male Coffee Roaster: a café stop between trains at Gyodae Station

Mini Male Coffee Roaster Gyodae Court Branch turned out to be a great spot for a quick stop while transferring at Gyodae Station. We'd been out playing hard with the kids in Seoul and now had to catch a bus home, which meant transferring at Gyodae Station on the way to Nambu Bus Terminal. We had a bit of time to spare, and rather than just moving on, I really wanted a good cup of coffee haha. So I looked up cafés near Gyodae Station known for good coffee, and this is the one I found.

It's close to the station exit too, so it looked like a good place to stop and rest for a bit.

It was about a 5-minute walk from Gyodae Station Exit 7. It was a fine distance to walk with kids, and also just right for a couple's stroll.

There was a side sign that made it easy to spot — 'oh, that's the coffee place!' Coming to Seoul for the first time in a while and thinking about a good cup of coffee got me kind of excited!

Ordering at the kiosk and what's in the bakery case

At Mini Male Gyodae Court, you could order easily through a kiosk, and they also sold bakery items.

I was planning to just get coffee, but seeing the bakery items on display, I couldn't just walk past haha. There were several kinds of salt bread that looked delicious, but since I'm partial to financiers, I picked the homemade baton financiers.

Inside Mini Male: simple, clean and easy with kids

Walking in, the whole place had a tidy, organized feel.

I liked the stylish atmosphere.

When I visited, it was right around post-meal coffee time, so it was really crowded.

The tables were mostly 4-person and 2-person setups, and there weren't many empty seats left.

I saw people who'd come alone for coffee, and also families like us.

How do the fruit mango latte and Helsinki latte taste?

Finally, our drinks arrived.

With the kids there, the moment the drinks arrived, both of them got interested right away haha.

My eldest wanted to stir the Helsinki latte himself, so he was hard at work mixing it.

The Helsinki latte seems to be the signature drink. It was so good, I'd highly recommend it.

I picked a nutty roast, and maybe because it matched my taste, I personally enjoyed it a lot. So if I come back again, I think I'll order coffee once more haha.

My eldest's pick was the fruit mango latte. Being a sweet drink, the kids sipped it right up happily haha. My younger one cared more about the financier than the drink! The brothers really do have different tastes haha.

Worth returning to Mini Male for a slower visit

Honestly, since I visited with the kids that day, I couldn't fully relax and enjoy the café. The moment the drinks came out, I was busy tending to and feeding the kids, so I didn't get much time to sip my own coffee slowly haha.

Still, I liked the coffee enough that I want to come back next time, either alone or with my husband. Sitting quietly with a cup of coffee and pairing it with a dessert like the financier would make for a much more relaxed visit.

It was a bit hectic visiting with the kids, but the coffee was delicious and the dessert was enjoyable too, so it's a place I'd like to visit again haha.
