Namcheon-dong sashimi bar in Busan: ₩68,000 platter and soju at Daeun
In short
Daeun Namcheon-dong Main Branch is an aged sashimi bar (izakaya) in Namcheon-dong, Suyeong, Busan. Booked through Naver Reservation, the order was one small Daeun sashimi mori (aged sashimi platter) at ₩68,000 with soju at ₩5,000 a bottle, and two bottles went down easily between the complimentary pajeon (savoury pancake), salmon carpaccio and aged sashimi dipped in konowata (fermented sea cucumber innards). Inside and outside Daeun Namcheon-dong Main Branch: is there a wait?

Here's the outside of the shop ❣️

The LED banner showing the Daeun set spread was eye-catching enough to make passersby stop and look ❕

There were big menu boards on both sides of the entrance, so it was easy to see everything at a glance 🔎 We visited after booking through Naver Reservation. If you're coming with a group for a gathering or company dinner, I'd recommend reserving ahead ➰

Here's the inside of the shop ❣️ The wood-toned interior gave off a generally comfortable vibe. It felt like a place that could work for a date, a casual meetup, or a company dinner — any kind of gathering.

Just looking at the neatly arranged table setting, you could tell the place is run cleanly ✨

I didn't manage to photograph the menu myself, so I pulled this from their Naver page — they had a wide range of options including set menus ‼️
What we ordered at Daeun and how much it cost
At Daeun Namcheon-dong Main Branch we ordered the small Daeun sashimi mori (aged sashimi platter) for ₩68,000 and soju for ₩5,000. That combo was plenty for the two of us.
- Daeun sashimi mori (small) ••• ₩68,000
- Soju •••••••••••••••••• ₩5,000
Here's what we ordered ❣️

Free side dishes at Daeun: pajeon and salmon carpaccio
At Daeun Namcheon-dong Main Branch, once you order, they bring out complimentary side dishes.

The tofu crackers, fish cake, and seasoned bean sprouts were all the kind of thing you keep reaching for with your chopsticks >_<

The pajeon (scallion pancake) looked good bb and tasted good bb — freshly pan-fried, warm, crispy — way too good to be considered just a free side dish 🤤

Salmon carpaccio ••• 🧡 this one, honestly, is the real deal

Thick-cut salmon, cucumber, and kkosiraegi (seaweed) — might look like nothing special, but it was perfect for waking up your appetite before the sashimi platter arrived ‼️ Even just with the free side dishes, the soju kept flowing at Daeun 🥹

Daeun sashimi mori (small): how much aged sashimi you get for ₩68,000
After a drink or two with the free side dishes, they brought out the sashimi mori. It's the small size, but the amount of fish was substantial ❕ Getting to enjoy several kinds of live-caught sashimi in one platter is probably the biggest strength of the Daeun sashimi mori 🫶🏻

One bite of fresh, thick-cut sashimi plus one shot of soju and I'm just a happy person •• 🖤
One bite of sashimi + one shot of soju = happiness / Come to Daeun to find your happiness, everyone - ❣️

Dipping a generous piece of sashimi into the konowata served alongside made me feel like ••• I owned the ocean 🌀 Konowata is a type of salted, fermented preparation made from sea cucumber intestines, so if you love seafood, you have to try it. Thanks to the plump, chewy texture of the aged sashimi, before I knew it we'd gone through two bottles of soju •• 😚

And personally, I care a lot about restrooms at restaurants — Daeun's were separated by gender and nice and clean, which I appreciated >_<
