Time for a write-up on some really good meat I had in Gwangalli. The pork came pre-seared and staff grilled it the rest of the way at the table, so I just got to sit back and eat comfortably (•̀ω•́)⸝

Good for a team dinner? Second floor, private rooms and dogs welcome
I was looking for a place to eat meat in Gwangalli when I found this spot, and it turned out to be bigger than I expected, with a second floor and even private rooms. There were plenty of different table setups too, so it looked like a solid choice for gatherings or team dinners.
Also, this is a dog-friendly restaurant, so it'd be great for anyone looking for a place to eat with their dog 🐾
480-hour aged ogeopsal and pork shoulder, grilled by the staff
That day we ordered 480-hour aged snowflake pork belly 180g, 480-hour aged pork shoulder 180g, doenjang jjigae, myeongran rice, and steamed rice.

(You order through the tablet at the table!) The pork comes out pre-seared, but that's not the end of it — a staff member grills it the rest of the way right at your table.

Grilling meat is kind of a hassle honestly, so having someone handle it start to finish was so nice.

Side dishes and the self-serve bar: salt, wasabi and myeongran
Once the pre-seared meat came out, the staff grilled it to just the right point for eating. Both the pork belly and shoulder were delicious, and I loved how many things there were to pair with the meat.
There was salt, wasabi, myeongran (pollock roe), and more, plus a separate self-serve bar where you could grab whatever sides you wanted. I'm the type who likes mixing things up while eating meat, so this setup was especially my thing. A little wasabi on a piece of meat was great, and it went well with myeongran too.

The meat itself was delicious, but being able to eat it in so many combinations kept me reaching for more.
Doenjang sulbap: stirring a bowl of rice into the soybean paste stew
We also ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), regular spice level. It was exactly the flavor I like.

There was a slight kick of hot pepper, so it wasn't heavy, and it went great alongside the meat. We also ordered steamed rice and mixed it into the stew, basically making a doenjang rice bowl — that combo was seriously good.

You eat meat, then have a spoonful of the doenjang rice, and somehow it makes you want to eat more meat... it's magic.
Myeongran rice at Donbegi: nutty rather than salty
I expected the myeongran rice to be salty, but it was much milder than I thought, and really savory. I had it with the leftover meat and stew, and the savory flavor of the myeongran went well with everything.

I'd recommend ordering one of the rice dishes as a side rather than just eating meat the whole time.
Final verdict on Donbegi Gwang-an Branch for a Gwangalli team dinner
Overall the meat was delicious, and what I liked most was how easy the meal was thanks to the pre-searing plus staff-grilling system. With so many sides to choose from and a self-serve bar to grab whatever you like, meat lovers could easily put together a meal to their taste.

The space is spacious with a second floor and private rooms, so it's great for going with friends, and a solid option when looking for team dinner pork barbecue in Gwangalli. It's also dog-friendly, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in Gwangalli 🐶 If you want aged pork barbecue in Gwangalli that's grilled for you without any hassle, Donbegi Gwang-an Branch is worth a visit.
Ate well again today :)
