I figured that by the time I picked up my rental car after landing in Jeju, I'd be well past lunchtime, so I looked up black pork restaurants near Jeju Airport ahead of time and landed on Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch! This place is famous for having been filmed by Choiza, and it's a certified spot for Jeju native black pork Nanchuk Matdon, so I decided it would be my very first meal in Jeju.

Inside Pork80: hallabong juice and tangerine sorbet

Once I walked inside, the space was bigger and cleaner than I expected, which was great. The tables were spaced generously too, so it seemed fine for a family visit, and the overall pleasant atmosphere made it comfortable to eat with a kid.

The restaurant was also running a Naver receipt review event, and they had hallabong (Jeju tangerine) juice for sale too.

Side dishes at Pork80, including seasoned raw crab

Once I ordered the meat, the side dishes started coming out one by one, and there were more varieties than I expected. What stood out especially was that seasoned raw crab came as a basic side dish — it was quite tasty too, great alongside a bowl of rice. With so many side dishes that paired well with the meat, it was fun to mix and match.

Is Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch good with a child?

Since we came with a kid, the staff brought over a separate plate, spoon, and fork for the child, plus seaweed. There was also a baby chair ready, though my child is a bit older now so we didn't need to use it. Still, when traveling around Jeju with a kid, these small thoughtful touches actually matter quite a bit, and it was nice to be able to eat comfortably.

I ordered the 600g Nanchuk Matdon plate, which is basically Pork80's signature dish.

Since the staff grilled the meat for us, we could just wait comfortably and eat.

Staff grilling thick cuts of black pork

Watching the thick cuts of meat turn golden brown made me glad I decided to eat black pork right after arriving in Jeju. Since the staff grilled it for us, we didn't have to worry about the grilling at all and could just enjoy chatting with family while eating.

I tried a piece of the well-grilled Nanchuk Matdon, and it was thick, juicy, and had a nice savory flavor.

What I especially liked was dipping it generously in the meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) served alongside. Jeju black pork really does taste best with meljeot! Dipping the meat thoroughly into the salty, umami-rich sauce paired really well. Trying different combinations like matcha salt or wasabi is nice too, but personally, the meljeot combination was the tastiest for me.

Finishing with cheese bomb egg custard and rice

And then, the cheese bomb egg custard I ordered for my kid! The soft, fluffy egg custard had cheese mixed in, so it was great to eat in between bites of meat. My kid enjoyed the soft egg custard too, so if you're visiting with a child, it seems worth ordering one. On top of that, we ordered rice as well and finished off a filling lunch. If you're looking for a can't-go-wrong black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport, start your trip off well and happy at Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch!
