Songdo, Pohang restaurant for spicy hanwoo beef pilaf: Plan A

Plan A Restaurant is a Pohang Songdo hotspot right in front of Songdo Beach, and it's an ocean-view pasta place 🤍

Songdo Beach 🌊 is my personal favorite among Pohang's beaches because it has the most exotic vibe — I drive by often, and it turns out there's a hidden 10-year-old pasta spot right here!! Ocean view AND indoor dog-friendly, so I ran straight over 〰️

Where is Plan A Restaurant, and what are its hours and parking?

Plan A Restaurant is on the 4th floor of the building right next to the Songdo Starbucks. Hours are 11:45–21:00, closed every Tuesday.

Saturday lunch at Plan A Restaurant: the dog-friendly corner table

We visited around noon on a Saturday and a lot of tables were already full! If you want a seat with a great ocean view, I'd recommend timing your visit for opening time haha

The good ocean-view spots were already taken, and since we had our dog with us, we ended up at the very corner table

What's on the menu at Plan A Restaurant?

The menu had steak, pasta, pilaf, and salad, and most of the beef and shrimp dishes came with spice-level options! It's one menu item per person. Not shown in the menu photo but they also have soda, ades, and beer and other alcohol~ We took forever deciding what to order lol We wanted to eat everything..

After a lot of deliberation, we ordered four dishes total: beef tomato spaghetti, shrimp aglio olio, shrimp cream risotto, and spicy beef pilaf!

After ordering, they brought out the basic tableware, side plates, and pickles haha

You can get extra pickles at the self-serve bar! Pickle lovers, fully satisfied 🤍👍🏻

Shrimp aglio olio and shrimp cream risotto at Plan A Restaurant

The shrimp aglio olio came out first — heavy on garlic aroma with a ton of both big and small shrimp packed in! There was some pepperoncino so it had a slight kick, and that kept it from feeling greasy — I kept eating it nonstop 👍🏻

The shrimp cream risotto had a really generous amount of rice!! The savory cream and cheese made it taste even better.. haha The shrimp were small but there were tons of them

How the noodles were cooked in the beef tomato spaghetti

The beef tomato spaghetti with ground beef and tomato sauce over the pasta noodles was genuinely delicious!! 🤍 The noodles in particular were cooked just a touch past al dente, which was exactly my preference haha

How spicy is the spicy beef pilaf?

Last up, the beef pilaf!! You absolutely have to order this 👍🏻🤍 The beef was chop-steak size, huge and tender, insane ㅠㅠ One person here who instantly regretted not ordering the steak instead.

We're all adults, so the spicy version felt about as spicy as Jin Ramyeon's spicy flavor, and honestly the heat made it even more delicious 👍🏻❕ I need to go back just for this beef pilaf haha If you go to Plan A Restaurant, the beef pilaf menu is an absolute must!!! Remember — the meat in it is steak-quality lol

Is Plan A Restaurant in Songdo, Pohang worth it?

If you're looking for a great pasta restaurant near Songdo Beach in Pohang, Plan A Restaurant comes highly recommended~ Certified Pohang Songdo hotspot!!!! Ocean view, and every dish was high quality 💗 The beef was genuinely tender and generously sized 👍🏻👍🏻

When we checked out, I noticed the beef was hanwoo (Korean native beef)!! No wonder it melted in my mouth..〰️

Indoor dog-friendly seating plus delicious food across the board — I fully intend to come back next time I'm in Songdo 🐶🤍
