Seongsu café for milk soft serve after Seoul Forest: Mellows

After an evening walk around Seoul Forest, I found myself craving a sweet dessert. I searched nearby and visited Mellows because the ice cream reviews were so good.

At first, I was only planning to have ice cream, but once I got there, the evening atmosphere was much nicer than I expected. I think it would suit anyone looking for a dessert café near Ttukseom Station where the atmosphere matters too.

How close is Mellows to Ttukseom Station?

Mellows is about a three-minute walk from Exit 7 of Ttukseom Station, so it was easy to find. It was also an easy distance to come over after walking around Seoul Forest.

When I visited in the evening, soft light glowed from outside the shop, giving it a completely different feel from a daytime café. There were also terrace-style outdoor seats, which looked perfect for a cool evening like these days.

Mellows' evening atmosphere, different from daytime

The interior had an overall moody, aesthetic feel, and the charms of daytime and evening were clearly different. Maybe it was the lighting and projector, but the atmosphere was really lovely.

By day, it is a café for coffee and ice cream, while in the evening it has a separate menu where you can enjoy cocktails, beer, whisky, and more. I had gone there for dessert in the first place, but seeing the atmosphere made me think it would be great for a casual drink too. Next time, I would like to come in the evening for a light cocktail or highball.

I thought it would be especially nice to sit outside with a drink and enjoy the cool breeze. It also looked like a good second stop after a date at Seoul Forest.

Mellows soft serve menu and prices

Mellows sells soft serve made with Sangha Farm milk. Along with the classic milk ice cream, there were many flavors, including matcha, peanut butter, peach, and strawberry.

At ₩3,500, the milk ice cream did not feel too pricey for a casual dessert in Seongsu-dong. In addition to ice cream, there was coffee, plus an alcohol menu in the evening, which I liked because you can enjoy it differently depending on when you visit.

Trying the milk and chocolate soft serve

That day, I ordered the milk soft serve for ₩3,500 and the chocolate soft serve for ₩4,000. With the first bite of the milk soft serve, the rich milk flavor came through right away. Perhaps because it was Sangha Farm ice cream, it was nutty and smooth, and rather than being overly artificially sweet, it had a deep milk flavor that kept me reaching for more.

The chocolate soft serve was sweet too, perfect as a dessert after a walk. Personally, the classic milk flavor was much tastier than I expected, so I would order it again on my next visit.
