Hanam jjukkumi restaurant with a giraffe photo zone: Jigueseo On

Hi everyone~ this is Kim from Chatkki. I went with my family in the evening to Jigueseo On Jjukkumi (지구에서 온 쭈꾸미) Hanam Main Branch. The name is funny so I was curious what the place would be like, and the lights outside caught my eye first. Maybe because it was evening, they looked even prettier, and my daughter seemed to love them too — she stood there looking for a long while~

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is located at 5 Seohanam-ro 390beon-gil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open from 11 AM to 9 PM. It's closed every Thursday, and the parking lot in front of the restaurant is quite spacious.

There's also a large open lot behind where I was standing to take these photos, so parking shouldn't be an issue even for big families or group gatherings!

By the time we finished eating and came out, it had gotten darker, and the lights shone even more beautifully~ There's a giraffe doll inside the restaurant, but there was an even bigger giraffe doll outside. There were also golf clubs and balls, so my daughter — who's never learned golf in her life — decided to try swinging away at it herself, having a total blast.

What the seating looks like inside

Inside Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch, there are regular tables along with high-backed booth seating. The signature Banggan perilla-oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set is ₩13,000 per person.

There are regular tables, plus high-backed seats where you don't have to make eye contact with the next table over~

They also said you get a free Han River ramyeon if you write a receipt review! Haha

Tasting the perilla-oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set for two

When we ordered the Banggan perilla-oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set for two, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), pollack roe, jellyfish salad, a side salad, kimchi, and a seaweed soup with clams came out first. We didn't specify a spice level, but it turned out to be a bit spicy — the good kind of spicy.

The seaweed soup, pollack roe, and japchae — all things I love — were so good. The pollack roe wasn't too salty and paired really well with the perilla oil.

The jjukkumi came out too. I don't think we chose a spice level for it either. It's a bit spicy, and deliciously so!

True to its name, the perilla-oil jjukkumi comes with a separate serving of perilla oil~ The combination of rice, jjukkumi, and perilla oil is fantastic! I'm more of a dip-it-plain type than a mix-it-all-in-the-sauce type, so I just scoop up the sauce with a spoon rather than tossing everything together haha.

The hot pot rice has jujube, sweet pumpkin, and beans in it~ The warm water for making sungnyung (scorched rice tea) from the pot wasn't plain water either — it had some color to it... I'm not sure what kind of water it was haha, but the sungnyung was nutty and really delicious!

Living up to its reputation as a top jjukkumi spot in Hanam, people kept coming in even as we were leaving.

Dessert, evening lights and the giraffe doll photo zone

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch has ice cream and coffee ready as dessert. Even after finishing our meal and stepping outside, it was hard to leave right away because of the outdoor lights.

Besides jjukkumi, they also have braised monkfish and braised seafood — the table next to us ordered one of the braised dishes and the smell was really, really good. Next time I'll come back to try the braised dishes too~

We came for dinner, but even after finishing our meal, it was hard to leave right away because of the pretty lights. We took family photos under the lights and hung around a bit before heading to the car... and with the weather warming up lately, mosquitoes have shown up in huge numbers. They were swarming all over the car too, so getting inside felt like a scene out of a spy movie, ducking in fast~ These days even at home at night, mosquitoes are keeping me up. Everyone, watch out for seasonal colds and mosquitoes haha.
