A slice cake afternoon at Café Diaz with a child

Today I was craving a fruit cake loaded with fruit, so I visited Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo with my child~~ :) Just planning to have a simple slice cake with my kid.

Café Diaz is a handmade cake specialty shop, and it also sells a simple lineup of drinks~~

It's located on the basement floor, tucked into a small spot near the cake sales area~~!!

Is the 49,000-won size 1 whole cake worth it as a gift?

They sell both whole cakes and slice cakes. For whole cakes there's mixed fruit, fig, and peach. Size 1 is just the right size, sold for ₩49,000~! The blueberry cake isn't available as a whole cake, only as slices.

These days you can easily order fruit cakes online, but there's discoloration and delivery issues, so I prefer to see fruit bingsu-style cakes in person before buying. Café Diaz piles on the fruit and the price is reasonable too, so it seems good for gifting as well.

Ordering the blueberry slice cake and Häagen-Dazs ice cream latte

Today's slice cakes on offer were blueberry, fig, and peach. I was originally going to get the peach cake, but my kid saw the blueberry cake and said she wanted that one, so we ordered the blueberry cake 🫐 To go with it, we ordered a Häagen-Dazs ice cream latte and a fresh tangerine ade for my kid to drink.

Since we were eating there, we took our order and drinks and moved to the food court. Being the weekend, it was a bit crowded~~

Ta-da, here it is~~! The ice cream latte comes topped with Häagen-Dazs ice cream! Häagen-Dazs ice cream is usually on the pricier side, so using it in an ice cream latte is really nice~~ Watching them make the fresh tangerine ade for my kid, I noticed they use canned Trevi sparkling water~~ My kid drank it happily and enjoyed it :)

How does the blueberry cake at Café Diaz taste?

The blueberry cake comes out like this, loaded with blueberries~~ My kid said while eating it that the blueberries were so fresh.

Since Diaz makes their handmade cakes with seasonal fruit, the cake seems to taste even better~~! Of course, piling on plenty of fruit is a big appeal point too~~ Having tried blueberry this time, I'll have to try the peach or fig cake next time 🍑 The slice cakes are delicious, but they also seem great for gifting~~
