Takeout jokbal spread from Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch

I love jokbal (Korean braised pig trotter) so much that I get it as takeout pretty often, and this time I went to Cheongmigwan in Naseong-dong, Sejong. I was scrolling through Sejong food spots and picked this place because the jokbal photos looked great — and after actually taking it home and eating it, the portion was generous and the side dishes were surprisingly thorough, so I was satisfied.

What is Cheongmigwan in Naseong-dong, Sejong like inside?

Wood-toned entrance and Cheongmigwan sign

Even the exterior felt a bit different from a typical jokbal place. The big wood-toned entrance makes the Cheongmigwan sign easy to spot, and

there's a separate menu board set up in front of the entrance, so it's convenient to check the menu and prices before going in.

Spacious interior of Cheongmigwan

The inside was bigger than I expected too. It's overall wood-toned with lighting added on top, giving it a calm atmosphere, and the tables weren't cramped either

Above all, that day they had the big windows wide open, so even sitting inside felt like the outdoor air was coming right in! The window-side seats had a bit of an outdoor-dining vibe too, so I thought eating in the restaurant would be nice on a good-weather day

How the Cheongmigwan pickup zone and insulated packing work

I ordered takeout that day. There's a dedicated delivery/pickup space by the entrance, so it was easy to grab my order, and it was packed neatly so nothing got jostled.

Takeout jokbal spread laid out at home

Bringing it home and unpacking it piece by piece, there wasn't just jokbal — wrapping vegetables, chive salad, radish kimchi, pickles, garlic, chili, and sauces were all packed in generously. The insulated packing was so thorough that it was still warm when I opened it at home

How much jokbal comes in the takeout portion, and how is the texture?

Glossy takeout jokbal from Cheongmigwan

The moment I opened the lid, the jokbal was the first thing that caught my eye! It had an appetizing brown color with a glossy sheen, sliced into bite-sized pieces and packed full. The takeout container didn't look that big, but the portion turned out to be substantial.

The skin was chewy yet soft, and the lean meat wasn't dry either, so they went well together. In particular, there was quite a bit of meat still attached to the front leg bone at the bottom — gnawing on those bits is its own kind of fun. It even had a nice crunchy texture, so I couldn't just leave it aside.

Why Cheongmigwan jokbal tastes better in a lettuce wrap

Jokbal wrap made with lettuce and perilla leaves

Eating the jokbal on its own is fine, but the wrap combo is really the best. Put the jokbal on fresh lettuce and perilla leaves, then top it with radish kimchi, chive salad, garlic, and chili one by one — the savory meat combined with the aroma of the vegetables and a bit of spice works really well together.

A piece of jokbal with both lean meat and skin attached

Picking up a piece with a good balance of lean meat and skin, I got to taste the soft meat and chewy skin at once — totally my type.

I especially liked that they gave a generous amount of chive salad.

Pickles and radish kimchi served together
Radish kimchi served as a palate cleanser

Adding pickles or radish kimchi in between cleaned up my palate, so I could keep eating without getting tired of it until the end.
