Attaching the menu here so you can check before visiting~! Okonomiyaki is the main draw, but there's a good variety of dishes, so it looked like a solid spot to visit with a group too.

Inside and outside the Mullae restaurant

Exterior of Jojo Mullae Branch in a Mullae alley

Jojo Mullae Branch is within walking distance from Exit 1 of Mullae Station. It sits in an alley with that distinct Mullae atmosphere, and the exterior is clean and easy to spot.

Inside, it had a warm, cozy vibe with wood tones. The tables weren't packed too tightly together either! They give you a piece of paper to write your nickname on, and stick it into the okonomiyaki once it's done.

You could watch the food being made on the griddle up front. Sauces and bonito flakes were also set out on the table so you could add them to taste.

Mentaiko gyoza: crispy outside, salty cod roe sauce

The mentaiko gyoza came out first! Golden fried dumplings arrived with a cod roe sauce, and it looked appetizing right from the visual.

The outside was crispy while the inside was packed full, so the texture when biting into it was really satisfying.

It's delicious plain, but dipping it into the cod roe sauce that comes with it adds a salty kick that makes it even better. It's a nice light dish to eat while waiting for the okonomiyaki, so I'd recommend ordering it together!

How long is the wait for Jojo's signature okonomiyaki?

The Jojo signature okonomiyaki took about 15 minutes to be ready after ordering.

Since it's cooked fresh to order, there was a bit of a wait, but seeing it come out looking so appetizing on the griddle made it worth it!

Okonomiyaki piled with sauce and bonito flakes

They piled sauce and bonito flakes generously on top of the thickly made okonomiyaki before flipping it. Thanks to that, the bonito flakes came out crispy.

Okonomiyaki finished with a scallion topping

For me, the cooking finished with the scallion topping I'd added being placed on top. You just cut it into easy-to-eat pieces and serve yourself one at a time.

The outside was cooked golden and savory while the inside stayed moist, and I liked the contrast in texture between the two. The salty-sweet sauce blended in so well that I kept reaching for more after one bite.

I also tried adding the spicy sauce set out on the table, which was nice since you can customize it to your taste. A whole okonomiyaki plus mentaiko gyoza made for a pretty hearty lunch spread!

Is Jojo Mullae Branch worth it for lunch?

Jojo Mullae Branch was a great spot to visit when craving okonomiyaki in Mullae! The signature okonomiyaki was thick and moist, and the crispy mentaiko gyoza paired with it really well. If you're looking for a Mullae lunch spot on a day you want something a bit different, give it a try!
