Hanam Misa Chinese restaurant on a busy Saturday: nearby café coupon

I went looking for a decent nourishing meal for my husband, who's been having a rough time lately, and ended up at O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch. Here's my story of eating nurungjitang (scorched rice soup) and tangsuyuk at what turned out to be a genuinely hot Chinese restaurant spot in Hanam :-)

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is a nurungjitang specialty Chinese restaurant on Misa-daero in Hanam, Gyeonggi. I visited on a Saturday for lunch, and it was such a hot spot that even the wide parking lot was completely full.

It's about a 14-minute walk from Hanam Pungsan Station, so it's also easy to reach by public transit.

For takeout, you get ₩1,000 off per menu item, and they also do delivery through apps. *There's staff to guide parking, so just ask if the lot is full*

Saturday at 1pm: why a reservation is essential

Walking through the entrance, you'll see a waiting area. O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch takes reservations via Naver or phone, and if you show up without one, you might end up waiting on the spot.

I visited after making a Naver reservation for Saturday at 1pm, and honestly, everyone — book ahead no matter what. The wait was massive at this Hanam hotspot lol.

A long, wide, comfortable space — that's O Hyeongje Nurungjitang in Hanam. The window seats, which were popular, and high chairs were all ready to go.

Brass-bowl side dishes and the self-serve bar

Once you're seated, a serving robot brings the side dishes right away. White kimchi, spinach, green onion kimchi, dried radish strips, dongchimi (watery radish kimchi), and salad — all served neatly in brass bowls.

The self-serve bar is nicely organized, so you can grab more of any side dish you're short on or get fruit for dessert. Plates, ladles, scissors, and aprons are all set out too.

The menu and how to order by tablet

The menu at O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch starts with the signature nurungjitang, plus tangsuyuk, chili shrimp, yurinki, palbochae, jeongabok, fried dumplings, and cold bean noodles.

A wide range of alcohol and drinks, plus non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar sodas!

You order through the tablet at each table. They said they give out lemonade for Naver receipt reviews or Naver reservation events!

I was surprised it came out just 5 minutes after ordering, and equally surprised by the staff's tableside performance, pouring seafood and nurungjitang into a boiling stone pot right in front of us!

Seafood abalone nurungjitang, 20,000 won

At this Hanam Chinese restaurant hotspot, I ordered the seafood abalone nurungjitang (₩20,000). It's the basic seafood nurungjitang topped with abalone and young ginseng sprouts, finished with an even healthier look ★

It's in a piping-hot stone pot, so you need to stir it with a ladle to keep it from sticking!

The abalone and ginseng sprouts went to my husband! Already feeling that nourishing-meal vibe, right?

The nurungjitang was genuinely delicious, with a rich broth and plenty of seafood and vegetables! The vegetables and seafood felt fresh and high quality even after being boiled, and I especially loved the nurungjitang and broth so much I seriously debated ordering more... It's obviously packed with healthy ingredients — how can it taste this good too! It was easy on the stomach and filling, which I really liked.

Fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk (mini), 20,000 won

Made with fresh pork tenderloin, the mini fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk is ₩20,000. Despite the word 'mini' in the name, the portion was anything but mini... they serve the tangsuyuk and sauce separately.

Crispy outside, tender inside — dip it in the sauce and it's the best! I think kids would especially love it.

Since it's a Chinese restaurant, I had to try the tangsuyuk too — the nurungjitang was great, but the tangsuyuk was also super tasty >.<

I grabbed an orange from the self-serve bar for dessert and was surprised even the fruit was delicious. Every single side dish was tasty too — apparently you can even buy the side dishes to take home.
