Rainy weekday mango steen soufflé and mocha pot coffee: 5to7 Seongsu
In short
5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is a soufflé pancake and mocha pot coffee café between Seongsu and Seoul Forest in Seongdong, Seoul. Visiting on a rainy weekday afternoon, the writer ordered the mango steen soufflé for ₩28,000 along with a mocha pot americano and a Dutch coffee americano, with the soufflé arriving after about 10 minutes. The fluffy soufflé was great, but the nutty, acid-free mocha pot coffee turned out to be the quiet winner.

I was out in Seongsu when I heard there's a lovely café famous for soufflé pancakes right between Seoul Forest and Seongsu, so I went to check out "5to7 Seongsu Main Branch"!
One-line verdict — I was amazed by the soufflé, and amazed twice by the mocha pot coffee +_+

5to7 exterior — Seoul Forest café

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch sits right between Seongsu and Seoul Forest, making it the perfect spot to stop and rest after checking out pop-up stores in Seongsu and browsing designer brand shops over toward Seoul Forest! If you're coming from Seoul Forest Station, it's within 10 minutes on foot from Exit 5 :)
What's the atmosphere like inside 5to7, this Seongsu café?

The moment I walked in, the lighting and vibe hit exactly my taste, ugh ㅠㅠㅠ. Actually, even the café's name is full of mood — 5to7. Inside it's even quieter and more healing. I visited on a weekday afternoon so there weren't many people, which made it even better :)
There are all kinds of seats tucked into different corners, and honestly everything looks pretty even if you just snap a random shot. The wood-tone interior and warm lighting are so good haha.

There's also a second floor, so it seems like there'd be plenty of seats even on weekends. But the view is nice and it's spacious, so seats might also fill up fast.

This bamboo lighting is totally my style. I visited on a rainy weekday, and with rain drizzling outside and a lush tree view under the light, it was such a healing café..!

Another thing that surprised me — I came for the soufflé, but the coffee here is special too. They sell coffee brewed with a mocha pot, a brewing method mainly used in Italy, and it was special since I'd never seen it in Korea before.

💡 What I ordered — Mango steen soufflé ₩28,000 / Dutch americano (iced) ₩6,000 / Mocha pot americano (hot) ₩6,000
I'd never seen mango steen soufflé before, and it looked like a summer special, so I ordered it. And for coffee, I picked the mocha pot americano. Once I tried it, it was genuinely nutty and delicious, so I'd definitely recommend it haha.

Also, 5to7 has actually been on TV as one of Seoul's six best soufflé pancake spots!! The soufflé was so fluffy and delicious haha.
Honest taste review — 5to7, a Seongsu soufflé spot

This place is pretty from any angle +_+. The soufflé and coffee arrived. The soufflé came out after about 10 minutes, which was faster than I expected — seems like they time the baking! The soufflé pancake was covered in fluffy cream on top, and the visuals were a total win. There was a huge amount of mango steen piled on too?!
Mango steen soufflé pancake
I scooped up a bite, and the texture was pure fluffiness. Looked like about 3 layers stacked up. The portion was generous too, which I loved haha. But once it hit my mouth, it really did just melt away softly — an egg-scented soufflé bread that went down so easily!!

I fell for the visuals and took a bunch of photos. I'd totally recommend this place to anyone coming for Instagram shots!! Photos turn out great and the food is delicious too — if you're looking for a mood-lifting café in Seongsu, this is the one!!

There was lemon zest sprinkled over the soufflé pancake! It added a nice brightness, which helps since the egg scent could otherwise feel a bit heavy — thanks to the lemon zest, it actually paired even better with the mango steen!?
Mango steen eaten in Southeast Asia is genuinely mind-blowing. But this one, being Korean mango steen, definitely wasn't super sweet and was more tart! It was refreshing and nice, but next time I'd like to try a soufflé pancake topped with fig or another seasonal fruit haha.

The soufflé pancake bread itself was so delicious! Fluffy, and topped with a cream that wasn't too sweet, giving it a nicely balanced flavor. It's been a while since I had such good soufflé in Seongsu-dong haha.

Mocha pot americano & Dutch americano
Visually the soufflé wins hands down.. but honestly, the quiet winner in my heart was actually the coffee!! You can order the americano as either hot or iced, in different styles, and both were totally my taste. The hot mocha pot americano had a flavor different from drip or regular brewed coffee — slightly nutty, clean, with no acidity, and it was so delicious I wanted more. The iced Dutch americano had a nice hint of Dutch coffee aroma and was refreshing and tasty!!!
Overall thoughts — 5to7, a soufflé spot at a Seongsu café
✅ What I liked — The café atmosphere is unmatched. The warm lighting was so pretty, and it was quiet and lovely. The coffee was delicious and the soufflé needs no explanation. A café where both the dessert and the coffee are great!!
🔁 Would I return — I loved it so much I want to come back ♡
