While traveling around Gyeongju looking for things to do, I stopped by Yard, a café in Gyeongju. It's near Gyeongju World and Bomun-danji, so it fit right into my route. Best of all, when I visited, cosmos flowers were in full bloom right in front of the café, so I got to enjoy brunch and flower-viewing at once. Let me show you around.

Where is Yard, and what about parking and the mood?
Yard is a café near Bomun-danji, close to Gyeongju World. The area feels more relaxed than the typical hustle of a tourist spot, so it's a good place to take a break, and parking is fully available.

The view out front is wide open and there's outdoor seating too, so it's great to spend time outside on a nice day.

Stepping inside, there were so many kinds of desserts — burnt cheese cake, crepe cake, chocolate cream cake, and more.

Yard's self-serve bar and bread-warming oven
Yard's self-serve bar has water, dishware, cutlery, and wet wipes all set up so you can just help yourself without feeling awkward.

And you can toast your own bread in the oven — I always felt bad eating cold bread, so this little touch was genius ✨👍

First and second floor seating at Yard
The inside of Yard is so pretty too. On the first floor you can look out at the open, quiet outdoors. It has a cozy feel and the interior is lovely.
They say the second floor becomes a total hotspot when cherry blossoms bloom, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are bean bag sofas like these too. I sat right here, and with the full glass view it was pure healing 🤍✨
The second floor interior is stylish and matches the glass windows so well, I was completely satisfied 🥹. Like a terrace, there are seats upstairs that connect to the outdoors too.

When do the cosmos in front of Yard bloom?
Honestly, what I loved most about this visit to Yard was the cosmos field right in front of the café. I happened to visit right at peak bloom (September–October), and the flowers were incredibly abundant. So, so pretty!! 💐✨🤍

It really did seem like peak bloom — there wasn't a single bud left unopened, all of them wide open... 🤍 so pretty... 🤍
The sun hits directly and there's no backlighting, so photos turn out amazing!!
And couples visiting Gyeongju on a date!! Taking photos here together is so pretty x 100. Highly recommend ❤️. The weather was cool, the flowers were in full bloom, and I got great photos — I was so happy.
Yard brunch menu and prices
After thoroughly enjoying the cosmos, we went in and ordered. Since it was during brunch hours, we went with the plate that felt like the signature menu.
- English Plate ₩16,000
- Butterfly pea grapefruit ade ₩6,500
- Iced americano ₩5,500

English Plate (16,000 won)
The visuals were insane 🫢 This is Yard's signature brunch menu, the English Plate. It comes with an English muffin, omelette, bacon, sausage, fries, balsamic salad, and blueberry yogurt.

The drinks that came with it: the one below is the butterfly pea grapefruit ade (₩6,500), and above it is the iced americano (₩5,500).

With so many things on one plate, it looked and felt like a proper brunch from the start. Having bread, eggs, meat, potatoes, salad, and yogurt all on one plate meant I could switch between different flavors instead of eating just one thing, which I loved.
Butterfly pea grapefruit ade (6,500 won)
The color alone makes this such a photogenic drink. There's a reddish grapefruit base at the bottom, gradating into purple toward the top, and it really popped placed next to the food photos.

The taste has that distinct grapefruit tartness with a slight bitterness, and it paired perfectly with the brunch dishes!!
Iced americano (5,500 won)
No acidity at all, just a nutty, smooth americano. It was the most easygoing pairing with the brunch menu, so ordering it alongside was great.

Just like with the English Plate — bread, eggs, bacon all together — the americano pairing worked really well.

How each part of the English Plate tasted
Since it's a plate built around the soft English muffin and sausage and bacon, I started right away by cutting into the sausage for a bite.

The sausage came out plump and grilled, its presence obvious at a glance. Cut it up and eat it with the muffin or the egg, and the savory, salty flavors blend together naturally — so good.

The omelette was soft and fluffy... 🤍

A brunch plate without egg always feels a little lacking, so having it in the form of this omelette was perfect to eat alongside the seasoned bacon and sausage.

With meat and fries on the plate, it could easily feel heavy overall, but the generous salad on the side balanced it out. It had fresh vegetables and tomatoes, plus that distinctly tangy balsamic flavor ✨🤍

Granola and blueberries were on top of the yogurt, making a nice dessert-like finish. After the savory, hearty plate, finishing with the tart, sweet yogurt was so satisfying!!
Is Yard worth a stop near Gyeongju World?
- A brunch café near Gyeongju's Bomun-danji
- A hearty plate with everything from muffin to salad on one dish
- Relaxed seating from the first to second floor
- Great outdoor space and surrounding scenery to enjoy together
- Cosmos in full bloom now, and a cherry blossom spot in March
- A Gyeongju café good for both brunch and flower-viewing
Yard felt less like a café for just coffee and more like a place to properly eat brunch and take a real break. The English Plate packed an English muffin, omelette, bacon, sausage, fries, salad, and blueberry yogurt onto one dish, so ordering just this one menu item was plenty for a full meal.
But the biggest draw was that the cosmos out front are in full bloom right now, making it a great stop on a fall trip to Gyeongju. If you're looking for somewhere to have a relaxed brunch after touring Gyeongju World or Bomun-danji, I highly recommend this Bomun-danji café in Gyeongju ❤️✨🤍
