What kind of café is Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch?

This time I visited Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch. I'd been looking for a café in Unjeong where I could enjoy coffee together with baked treats, and this is where I ended up. The building itself was easy to spot, with a big PAUN COFFEE sign visible from the outside.

The tall glass exterior in black and white gave the whole place a clean, stylish look. There was also a small seating area right out front, and since the interior was visible through the glass, I could get a feel for the mood before even walking in.

Apparently the café has been running since 2018, and visiting in person, it really did feel like a neighborhood Unjeong café — a good spot to enjoy coffee and dessert together.

Inside Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch: mood and seating

Inside, Pound Coffee was decorated mainly in white and wood tones.

Seating with black chairs and wood tables

Black chairs and wood tables kept the overall mood clean and calm, and I was struck by how plants and small decor items were placed throughout.

There was even a space decorated with speakers, posters, and t-shirts,

which gave it more of Pound Coffee's own personality rather than the feel of a typical franchise café.

Self-serve corner with water and cups

On one side there was a self-serve area with water and cups, along with a separate spot to return used trays, which made things convenient.

The high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of sunlight, so the interior never felt cramped and had a nice sense of openness. Tables lined up along the window looked like a great spot to sip coffee while taking in the view outside.

Window seating and outdoor space next to the large windows

There's outdoor seating too, so on a nice day you could sit outside with your coffee.

Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch menu and prices

Pound Coffee's coffee and non-coffee menu board

The drink menu ranged from coffee to non-coffee options. Espresso and americano were ₩4,500, latte and flat white ₩5,000, cappuccino ₩5,000, vanilla bean latte ₩5,500, and jangdan bean cream latte ₩6,000.

Non-coffee options included choco latte ₩5,500, chamomile rich tea ₩5,500, lemon tea ₩5,500, lemonade ₩6,000, misugaru (roasted grain drink) ₩6,000, and hallabong pearl yogurt ₩6,500. There was also ice cream at ₩4,000, affogato at ₩5,500, and Aussie summer latte at ₩6,000, so even non-coffee drinkers had quite a few choices.

But what really caught my eye at Pound Coffee were the baked treats meant to go with the drinks. Several kinds of financiers were laid out in the display case, so you could pick them out yourself.

Bakery display case with financiers

Among the financiers, the salty choco financier and the matcha soboro financier were each ₩3,500. It's a light, easy pairing with a cup of coffee — worth keeping in mind if you're hunting for a bakery spot in Unjeong.

Ordering an iced americano and three financiers

Iced americano with three kinds of financiers

What I ordered that day was an iced americano along with a cinnamon sugar financier, a salty choco financier, and a matcha soboro financier.

Iced americano served with a blend description card

The iced americano was ₩4,500. Since I'd picked three desserts, I figured a clean americano would suit better than a sweet drink, so I ordered it alongside.

There was even a card explaining the coffee blend served with the drink, which gave off the sense that they really care about their coffee. Alternating bites of the sweet financiers with sips of americano made for a great combo.

Cinnamon sugar financier and salty choco financier

Cinnamon sugar vs salty choco financier

The cinnamon sugar financier had cinnamon sugar dusted on the outside, giving it a different character from a plain financier. The nutty flavor of the baked treat combined with the cinnamon aroma paired well with the americano.

The salty choco financier was ₩3,500, and it had a rich chocolate flavor with a salty edge. Of the three, this one is especially worth trying if you're a fan of chocolate desserts.

Matcha soboro financier topped with crumble

How does the matcha soboro financier taste?

Lastly, the matcha soboro financier was also ₩3,500. As you can see in the photo, it had a generous layer of soboro (crumble topping) on top along with matcha, giving it a clearly different look from the other two.

Rather than ordering just one kind, picking all three financiers to compare made for a fun tasting experience since each one had its own character. It's nice to visit just for coffee, but if you like baked treats, I'd recommend picking a financier or two to go along with it.

Is Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch worth a visit?

Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch was an Unjeong café better suited to enjoying baked goods like financiers alongside your coffee, rather than coffee alone. The high ceilings and large windows made the interior bright and open, and I liked the café's overall mood created by wood-toned furniture mixed with various decor pieces.

On this visit in particular, I tried an iced americano along with three financiers — cinnamon sugar, salty choco, and matcha soboro — and each had its own distinct flavor, which made for a fun tasting experience. The combination of sweet financiers with a clean iced americano worked really well together. It was also nice being able to look at the baked goods in the display case and choose based on my own preference.

If you're looking for a place in Unjeong to enjoy coffee and dessert together, or hunting for a bakery café in the area, Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch is worth a visit.
