Yeongdeungpo yacht tour with a steering experience: Sailing Paradise

In short

Sailing Paradise is a Han River yacht tour operator in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On this roughly 1-hour cruise, I saw the 63 Building, Hangang Railway Bridge, and Banpo Bridge, took photos, tried steering the yacht, and enjoyed Champagne and cookies. Verdict: a memorable way to see Seoul from the water.

If you’re looking for a Han River yacht tour for a date in Seoul, take a look at Sailing Paradise, where I went! Having tried it myself, I was impressed by the wide-open Han River views and relaxed atmosphere. It was a satisfying Han River yacht tour not only for couples, but also for enjoying with friends or family.

Route through Yeouido Hangang Park

Sailing Paradise is in Yeouido Hangang Park, so it was fairly easy to get to. If you’re driving, simply search for it in your navigation app; by subway, it takes about 15 minutes on foot from Exit 3 of Yeouinaru Station on Line 5. There are bus routes too, so it seems convenient for a Seoul date course~ Head toward the duck boat area and turn right, and it’s right there.

When I arrived, there were more yachts than I expected! They came in different sizes and shapes, which was fun to look at, and the interiors were clean, comfortable, and neatly kept. It was great for photos, and overall it felt very well maintained.

Han River yachts in various sizes

There are various options by size, including 50-passenger, 30-passenger, 12-passenger, 10-passenger, and private yachts, so you can choose according to your group size or purpose. I read that they operate only top-tier yachts, and seeing them in person, I liked how clean they were.

Apparently, bookings are also available for the Seoul International Fireworks Festival season, which is hugely popular every year. The crowds must be enormous on the day of the festival, so watching the fireworks leisurely from a yacht sounds even better.

Things to know before booking a yacht

Yacht booking information
Han River yacht reservation guide

For a quick booking, I recommend deciding your preferred date, number of people, and purpose before making an inquiry. After requesting a reservation, you pay the deposit, and the booking is complete once you receive the final confirmation text. You also need to arrive at least 20 minutes before departure. Before boarding, I filled out a passenger log with my name and contact details, received a brief orientation, and boarded. I recommend arriving early so you can get ready without rushing~

What I experienced on a roughly 1-hour Han River yacht tour

The Han River yacht tour I took that day lasted about an hour. There was more time than I expected, so I could enjoy the river scenery, take photos, and relax.

Scenery during a Han River yacht tour

We stopped briefly in front of the 63 Building for photos. You can sit on the yacht and take pictures with the 63 Building behind you, and they turned out better than I expected~ My younger sibling took mine, but the building was hidden behind my body, so you couldn’t see it 😂 We also took videos, and thankfully it showed up clearly in those, so they made great keepsakes haha.

The atmosphere came through even better in GIFs or videos than in still photos! It was hot that day, but the cool breeze made it a lovely, healing experience.

Yacht view beneath Hangang Railway Bridge

As we passed beneath Hangang Railway Bridge, a subway train happened to go by at just the right moment. Looking up from below was already a different kind of view, and the passing train made the atmosphere even better!

Buildings around the Han River seen from the yacht

As we went along, they told us where we were passing and what the buildings in front of us were, which made the sightseeing even more fun. They were truly so kind!! 👍🏻

Trying the yacht steering wheel

Partway through, I got to hold the yacht’s steering wheel for a moment with guidance. It’s not something you get to try easily in everyday life, so it was especially memorable! They also had hats for taking photos, and wearing one made me feel like a real captain 😂 Thanks to that, I got some fun souvenir photos.

After that, they poured each of us a glass of Champagne. Sipping Champagne while taking in the view made the atmosphere even nicer~

There were also cookies prepared for us to enjoy freely. Enjoying it all like this, it was such a different experience that it was hard to believe I was in the middle of Seoul ^0^

After passing Banpo Bridge and taking in the different views, we headed back toward the marina~

Seoul cityscape from the Han River

Seoul’s cityscape viewed from the Han River had a charm completely different from usual. The scenery looked a little different on the way there and the way back, which made it fun to keep looking around too~ Between taking photos and enjoying the view, that hour flew by haha.

A different kind of memory made on the Han River

I usually come to the Han River to walk or ride a bike, but it was my first time looking around it by yacht. The views from the water felt completely different~ If you want a different date course in Seoul or hope to make a special memory, I recommend a Han River yacht tour! You can enjoy the sunset and night views too, so it’s great not only for couples but also for friends and family!
