Nampo-dong offal restaurant with spicy udon: Bupyeong Yang Gopchang

In short

Bupyeong Yang Gopchang is an offal restaurant in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu, Busan. My boyfriend and I ordered the small seasoned stone-pan yang gopchang, added udon noodles, shared a bottle of Daeseon, and finished with fried rice; the sauce-soaked udon was especially delicious haha. Verdict: a great pairing for drinks for two.

During my last vacation, I was wondering what to eat in Nampo-dong, Busan, when my boyfriend and I went for yang gopchang (beef tripe and intestines) at a place that keeps popping up on Reels lately🥰

The place we visited was Bupyeong Yang Gopchang in Nampo-dong, Busan! The walls are absolutely covered in celebrity signatures~ And even though it was raining, every seat was taken—wow.

While we waited, the smell of the yang gopchang cooking deliciously on the stone pan was seriously no joke hahaha. As the sauce bubbled away and the aroma rose up, my boyfriend and I kept making a huge fuss about wanting to eat already hahaha.

How the sauce-soaked yang gopchang tasted

Finally, we tried it, and the sauce had really soaked in, so it was wonderfully savory! The signature chewy yet nutty flavor of yang gopchang went so well with the sauce that I just kept reaching for it😋 Ordering the small size for two also meant the portion was not overwhelming, and it felt just right with a drink!

And the udon noodles I was personally looking forward to most❤️ Once there was a little sauce left, we added the udon and stir-fried it together, and it was another special treat hahaha. The sauce soaked right into the noodles, so I think I would have been sad if we had not added them🤣

I wasn't going to drink... but how could I not?

Sharing a bottle of Daeseon with my boyfriend while eating yang gopchang made for such a nice mood, and I was satisfied because it felt like we had properly enjoyed something delicious together for the first time in a while🍶💕 Dishes like this really only feel complete with soju…!

And one helpful thing to know before you go! I heard walk-in reservations are possible, so if you are planning ahead, making one could be a good idea😊 There were quite a lot of diners when we went, so using a reservation seems like a nice option if you want to eat comfortably at your preferred time.

A Nampo-dong date that ended with fried rice

You cannot skip fried rice either~~ It is just an impossible-to-go-wrong combo, seriouslyㅠ There are so many places to eat in Nampo-dong, but I have to praise our choice that day~~🤍

Especially if you are looking for something a little different during a Busan trip or a Nampo-dong date, this could be a nice yang gopchang spot to stop by🥰 The small seasoned stone-pan platter for two, extra udon noodles, and exactly one bottle of Daeseon! That combination was pretty great❤️ Saved as somewhere I want to revisit whenever I am craving delicious yang gopchang in Nampo-dong📌 I recommend it to anyone looking for a good yang gopchang place in Nampo-dong to have with a drink😆✨
