A genuinely great restaurant recommended through Superchart's red-tier rating. A real gem we happily paid extra to enjoy even more!
We went to the mart on a weekend morning, picked up a bunch of groceries, and by the time we came out it was already pretty late for lunch. Too much of a hassle to go home and cook, so we decided to eat out first — and that's how we ended up at this Masan Daetgeori ssamjangjip after some searching. This place serves food like a Korean set meal (hanjeongsik) with a spread of side dishes — a whopping 30 of them — and yet the price is still in the ten-thousands range!

These days a lot of restaurants only give you a few side dishes even when you eat out, so it had been a while since I'd seen such a generous spread.
Where is Masan Ssamjangjip, and what are the hours and parking?

Masan Ssamjangjip is located on the 2nd floor at 65 Haeandae-ro, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam~~ Hours are Wednesday–Sunday 11:00–21:00, with break time on weekdays 14:00-17:00 / Sat & Sun 16:00-17:00, and it's regularly closed every Monday and Tuesday.
🅿️ Masan Ssamjangjip has no parking lot! We used a paid parking lot nearby.

The interior is on the spacious side, so it works fine for family meals or group visits. If you're planning a late weekend lunch like we did, just keep in mind that break time starts at 16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, so check the timing before you go.

Masan Ssamjangjip menu and prices
The menu has the jeyuk (spicy pork) set for ₩14,900, the braised beef rib set for ₩20,000, and the grilled mackerel set for ₩17,000. Given what a single meal costs these days, ₩14,900 for a full set with a table packed full of side dishes is a great deal, right? It's a restaurant you could bring your parents to and still get compliments.
What really stands out here is the 30 side dishes — instead of just one or two banchan sitting there, you get to pick and choose from all sorts of things, which I loved.

The water tastes like barley tea, or maybe burdock tea — anyway, it's this nutty, savory water, and it's great.

The 30-side-dish spread at Masan Ssamjangjip, including blue crab doenjang stew
Everyone, look at these side dishes!!! Hahaha, this place is no joke. Genuinely not a single won wasted. I honestly want to eat like a king with a spread like this every single day!
This is really why you go to a hanjeongsik restaurant in the first place, haha. It's hard to lay out this many side dishes at home, so eating like this out once in a while just tastes even better!

The kimchi pancake was tasty too, but the blue crab doenjang (soybean paste) stew was seriously rich and spicy... the kind of taste that calls for soju.

Braised beef rib set for 20,000 won
We ordered the braised beef rib set, and the braised beef ribs themselves came out incredibly generous too.

The meat is so tender the bone slides right out, but it's not overly seasoned — just the right kind of delicious braised ribs!
Easy with kids: preschoolers eat for 8,000 won at Masan Ssamjangjip
With so many side dishes, my kid was busy sampling a bit of everything too. Eat some meat, eat some banchan, pick whatever suits your taste! These days, eating out with a kid often means paying close to ten thousand won just for a single kids' menu item. Here you pay ₩8,000 and your child gets to eat comfortably as their own person — way better than awkwardly scooping bits off my own plate for them!

On top of that, unlimited free ramyeon (instant noodles)! If you've had your rice and side dishes but still want a little more, you can cook up some ramyeon too,

and dessert fruit after the meal is free as well. Overeating warning, haha. Whether you're into spicy pork or fish, everyone can order to their taste, so it seemed like a good spot for groups too. You can also add stir-fried pork for ₩7,000, grilled mackerel for ₩8,000, and the braised beef ribs come in small, medium, and large add-on sizes.

And on top of all that, coffee and tea are free too. So generous... we really ate so well. My kid's already asking to go again next week?

Since my child is 7, it's sometimes awkward figuring out how to order for them at a regular restaurant, but here there's a set preschooler price, which made things easy — and with such a wide variety of side dishes plus crowd-pleasing dishes like spicy pork, braised beef ribs, and grilled mackerel, it suited everyone's taste well! If you're looking for a good restaurant in Masan Daetgeori or a Masan hanjeongsik spot that's comfortable to visit with kids, give Masan Ssamjangjip a try :)
