Last weekend, after not doing a Seongsu date in a while, my feet were killing me and it was right around caffeine time, so I rushed over to Bocado Butter Seongsu. It's been hot on Instagram with great reviews, so I went in with high expectations! It's close to Blue Elephant and you'll find it right at the mouth of the alley.

It was around 3pm, and true to its reputation as a popular Seongsu dessert spot, even the outdoor benches were packed with customers!

Bocado Butter! Just looking at it you can practically smell the butter — a really delicious dessert! There are also various coffee drinks you can enjoy alongside the bocado.

Being a hot Seongsu spot, there's an SNS check-in event, and the eye-catching coconut ice cream too.

You can order both outside and inside. The cute bear, Bocado Butter's symbol, doubles as a photo zone! So cute...

What surprised me was that, since there are so many foreign tourists in Seongsu, they even sell yakgwa! Traditional Korean dessert, enjoyed here in Seongsu 🥮🥮🥮

Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is great on the outdoor benches, but there's also some pretty nice space inside to relax. There's even a spot to wash your hands inside — a thoughtful touch before digging into bocado!

There's also this kind of aesthetic little seating spot!

I heard 'bocado' means 'just a bite' in Spanish. A crispy dessert full of butter flavor! It tastes great, but it's also a brand that makes the moment feel special — Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store.

I saw them bake the bocado right there. Spread the batter thin, carefully brush butter on top, bake it well — done!!!

How does the bocado coffee set taste with coconut cream?

At Bocado Butter, we ordered the bocado coffee set, coconut cream, and coconut ice cream.

The hot Bocado Butter I'd seen on Instagram and blogs — a quirky Seongsu dessert. Cake and coffee gets a bit predictable every time, but getting to try something this special at a hot Seongsu spot was so exciting!

Seriously so crisp! A baked butter dessert! The savory butter flavor was intense, and the look of it alone was fascinating! First, just took a bite plain!

Also tried dipping it in coconut cream. Ooooh!!!! Even plain, the texture of the crepe was super crisp and savory! But dipping it in coconut cream, with that fragrant coconut mixing in, made it even more delicious! Amazing!

The coconut whipped cream adds a subtle aroma that pairs so well with bocado... crispy with a touch of moist, I'd say — crunch! It crumbles as you eat it! Hard to eat neatly haha. It's a bit like finger food — pick it up and crunch, crunch away, that's the move! Such a thinly baked crepe. A quirky dessert to enjoy in Seongsu! Amazing!

Highly recommend an Americano with bocado! Since bocado is savory and sweet, I think Americano beats a sweet coffee — just my taste though.

Is the coconut ice cream worth adding?

Bocado Butter's coconut ice cream is ₩5,000, and it's a menu item worth having together with the bocado. Coconut ice cream reminds me of Southeast Asia, so it felt like a little trip.

Bocado Butter's coconut ice cream is notable for its clean, plain flavor! I loved that. How can it have coconut aroma and still taste this clean?? Huh? Eating bocado then ice cream, my mouth felt so refreshing and clean! Coconut ice cream to enjoy in Seongsu! Recommend it!!!

Is Bocado Butter a good dessert stop on a Seongsu date?

Such a famous Seongsu dessert spot — Bocado Butter isn't ordinary, it's such a delicious and hip quirky dessert! A bit of a Seongsu dessert hotspot, and so many foreign tourists come through too! Definitely worth visiting when you want a light dessert with coffee.
