Baby-friendly Hanam BBQ with self-serve banchan bar: Ikkjujeokku
In short
Ikkjujeokku is a Jeju black pork and white pork Korean BBQ restaurant in Gamil, Hanam, Gyeonggi, with a tented outdoor charcoal zone and a self-serve bar of lettuce wraps and side dishes. Visiting with a 10-month-old baby at 7pm on a weekday, the writer grilled Jeju white pork kimchi pork belly 200g (6,900 won per 100g) and Jeju black pork five-layer pork belly 300g; the black pork was sold out, but the white pork was still pleasantly chewy. Ikkjujeokku is a good Hanam Gamil BBQ spot when you want a camping mood over dinner.

The weather's been getting cooler lately, and it made me want to go camping — which used to be my husband's and my hobby. But the reality is, we're raising a 10-month-old baby now. So to get a little taste of that autumn camping mood, we went to a Hanam Gamil restaurant that can pull it off.

What kind of BBQ restaurant is Ikkjujeokku in Gamil, Hanam?
A place that really nails the camping vibe — Ikkjujeokku (이꾸저꾸), which means "grill this too, grill that too." Isn't the name itself just adorable? It's a Gamil-dong BBQ restaurant in Hanam Gamil, and it's a Hanam black pork spot where you can grill not just what they sell but also food you bring yourself. So — grill this too, grill that too, haha.

Ikkjujeokku is a pretty spacious Hanam Gamil restaurant, and the sign is easy to spot from a distance, so you won't have trouble finding it.

Is there parking at Ikkjujeokku?
There's also parking space right in front of the restaurant, which made it easy to visit. I went around 7pm on a weekday, and there were still 2–3 spots left out front.

This is what the inside of the Hanam black pork restaurant looks like. It's divided into two sections by a central partition, and there's also a private room in the back for eating more privately.

What's on the self-serve lettuce wrap and side dish bar?
This place mostly runs on a self-serve system. Lettuce wraps, sauces, dishware, even drinks — you help yourself to as much as you want. Just take what you'll actually eat, though, since taking too much and leaving it behind gets you a ₩5,000 waste fee, haha!

I liked that the lettuce wraps weren't just sesame leaves and lettuce — there was a whole variety set out. Being able to pick whatever suited my taste made me glad I'd come here, haha.

The side dishes were varied too, not just the lettuce wraps. Green onion kimchi and mustard leaf kimchi that pair great with meat, plus scallion salad — I tried them all one by one, and they went really well with the meat. Totally delicious!
The outdoor charcoal zone at Ikkjujeokku: camping mood indoors and out
This is the reason I wanted to come here — the outdoor charcoal grill zone. Once you open this door and step out —

— this wide-open outdoor zone opens up in front of you, haha. Perfect for enjoying that camping mood on days like this.
There's even a tent set up like this, so you can enjoy it with atmosphere even if it happens to rain! At Ikkjujeokku you can eat anything you bring with no restrictions, along with the meat they sell — I thought bringing shrimp or a fish dish to grill on the charcoal here on a day like this would be absolutely delicious, haha.

Ikkjujeokku meat prices and table charge
But the real reason this place is famous — the great-value meat menu. It's especially known as a Hanam black pork restaurant. They serve both Jeju black pork and Jeju white pork, and at just ₩5,900 per 100g, it's a real value spot. I personally prefer black pork, but since I went a bit late, it was sold out that day. If you want black pork, I'd recommend calling ahead! And the white pork was just as delicious, haha.

The table charge is ₩3,000 per adult (₩1,000 per child) if you order meat, or ₩7,000 per adult (₩4,000 per child) if you don't. Honestly, since the meat itself is such good value and such high quality, it seems better to just order meat along with it — you'll save on the table charge too.
Jeju white pork kimchi pork belly 200g

I was going to order the plain white pork belly, but then I saw the next table grilling kimchi and got won over — so I ordered the Jeju white pork kimchi pork belly, haha. It was ₩6,900 per 100g, and I ordered 200g total. Check the photo above for a sense of how much 200g is!
Even in the video, the texture of the meat looks amazing, right?

The kimchi looks like top quality too, doesn't it? This stuff is seriously the real deal, haha. I tried it on its own before grilling and it was genuinely delicious — exactly the well-aged kimchi (mukeunji) flavor I was hoping for. If you love kimchi, this will really satisfy you.

Before diving into the grilling, I brought over a simple round of side dishes — bracken fern and seasoned bean sprouts. They're tasty on their own, and just as good grilled together with the meat.

I mixed the side dishes I'd brought with the kimchi and some garlic and grilled it all together, and — ah, this really is a genuine Hanam Gamil restaurant!
Jeju black pork five-layer pork belly 300g
Since I'd fallen so hard for the quality of the meat while eating, I decided to order the five-layer pork belly (ogyeopsal) too. Ordered 300g total!

I love the distinctively chewy texture of five-layer pork belly, and Ikkjujeokku's white pork hits exactly the right chewiness.

As you can see in the photo, the cut of meat wasn't too thin or too thick, which made it really pleasant to eat.

I paired the meat with the various side dishes and lettuce wraps from the self-serve bar in different combinations. First off, the meat itself was delicious on its own. Then, it was also great with grilled kimchi or garlic. And with fresh, crisp lettuce wraps, it was tasty too!
Is Ikkjujeokku good with a baby? Final verdict
This Hanam Gamil restaurant I visited had a special outdoor charcoal grill zone, making it a solid choice for a Hanam group dinner too. Since I went with a baby, I couldn't fully enjoy the outdoor area for fear the baby might catch a cold, but if you're hoping for a bit of camping mood these days, it's a restaurant worth visiting at least once. Good food and a great camping atmosphere — do stop by!
