Why we keep coming back to this nurungjitang spot near Starfield Hanam
When I want scorched rice soup in Hanam, there's one place that comes to mind first. O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch ••
This isn't a place I've been once or twice — I've already revisited more than 4 times, so I went without hesitation, and once again it didn't disappoint haha

Where it is and parking: minutes from Starfield Hanam, about 30 cars
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is close to Hanam Misa and right near Starfield. There's parking for about 30 cars around the restaurant, so it was convenient to visit by car 🥹

Inside O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang: space and seating
The interior is bigger and cleaner than I expected! Table spacing is nice and wide, so it's comfortable to eat with kids, and the whole vibe works well for group visits — a great Hanam Misa spot for family gatherings! I'd recommend it for bringing your parents or for a group dinner too.

The menu and our order: seafood nurungjitang for three
O Hyeongje's menu ranges from the signature nurungjitang (scorched rice soup) to various Chinese dishes like tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and chili shrimp! In particular, the tangsuyuk made with domestic chilled pork tenderloin is apparently a popular menu item here too ..🫳🏻🫳🏻 I ordered the seafood nurungjitang for 3.

Self-serve side dish bar and fruit for dessert
You can freely help yourself to side dishes at the self-serve bar. The neat side dishes are easy to refill as much as you like, and there's even fruit ready for dessert! The refreshing orange was perfect for cleansing the palate.

The side dishes overall come out looking really clean and well-made, but what I really love here is the green onion kimchi… 🥹 I mean, I came for the nurungjitang but ended up hooked on the green onion kimchi and kept refilling it ••
Seafood nurungjitang: broth poured into a hot stone pot at the table
Finally, the seafood nurungjitang arrives. They pour the rich broth right in front of you into a sizzling, bubbling stone pot .. so good. It already looks delicious just from the bubbling visual.
The seafood nurungjitang, bubbling away with such a tempting look, can be eaten piping hot right away — it's exactly the dish that comes to mind as the weather turns chilly ..! If you're looking for a scorched rice soup restaurant in Hanam, there's a reason this is the first one that comes to mind.
Along with plenty of seafood, there are also generous vegetables. The broth itself is rich and packed with a variety of ingredients, so one bowl leaves you really full. And rather than being heavy or overly seasoned, it feels more like enjoying warm broth together with the ingredients, which makes it a great meal to share with parents too.
What the scorched rice tastes and feels like
The core of nurungjitang is, of course, the nurungji (scorched rice) •• At first the crispy texture is still alive, but as it soaks up the broth it gradually turns soft and chewy — perfectly scorched rice.

The seafood is also really varied and generous !!! There's plump shrimp and baby octopus in there too, so it's fun to pick through and eat.

Nurungjitang with green onion kimchi: the combination to try
And here's the combo I'm obsessed with — nurungjitang + green onion kimchi. The green onion kimchi is genuinely delicious, and laying a bit on top of the scorched rice makes the savory flavor pop. This kimchi alone is one of the reasons I keep coming back haha

Snacks for sale, takeout discount and delivery
It's not just about the meal — there's a corner in the restaurant selling various snacks too! Good for grabbing one on your way out after eating.

There's also a takeout discount and delivery available, so it's handy when you want to eat it at home ..🤍
The verdict: a Hanam Misa restaurant worth booking for family gatherings
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch, where I've already revisited more than 4 times, keeps coming to mind for good reason •• The hot, rich seafood nurungjitang loaded with crispy scorched rice and fresh seafood makes for a satisfying meal, and above all the spacious restaurant and easy parking made it great for visiting with parents or family 🫶
If you're looking for a scorched rice soup spot in Hanam or a comfortable place to eat with family, I'd recommend this as a Hanam Misa family gathering spot !!
