Seoul Forest lunch reservation, terrace pasta: Billadeubeulleu Seongsu

In short

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is a white-and-blue Italian restaurant a 6-minute walk from Exit 5 of Seoul Forest Station in Seongdong, Seoul. After a walk through Seoul Forest, the writer booked ahead, took a terrace table and ordered aligot cheese lasagna at 22,000 won, Sicilian puttanesca pasta at 19,000 won and gnocchi fritti at 9,000 won, with a staff member pouring the cheese over the lasagna at the table. The seasoning runs a little salty, but Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is a fine place to share several dishes on the terrace on a sunny day.

(Perfect for girls' day, dates, and hanging out with friends!) The weather was so nice that I went to Seoul Forest, and for once I wanted a leisurely lunch.

Sunny-day outing mood near Seoul Forest

While walking around, I was craving pasta or lasagna over Korean food that day, so I looked up Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, a place I'd wanted to try for a while.

The weather was perfect, and since I'd booked ahead, I was glad I went on such a sunny day. Between the walk through Seoul Forest and the good food, my lunch break felt more relaxed than usual.

The terrace is one of the highlights of Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, so if you visit on a nice day, I recommend grabbing an outdoor seat!!

Where is Billadeubeulleu Seongsu and how do you get there?

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is about a 6-minute walk from Seoul Forest Exit 5. It's set back from the street with the main Seoul Forest boutiques, so if it's your first visit, I'd recommend just following the map.

It's also about 8 minutes from Ttukseom Station Exit 8, so it works whether you're coming from around Seoul Forest or walking from Ttukseom Station. If you're looking for a pasta place near Seoul Forest with easy access, the location is pretty convenient.

Entrance resembling a small European restaurant

Even from a distance it felt like a little restaurant abroad somewhere, and the blue sign was the first thing that caught my eye.

The overall white-and-blue decor matched the stylish vibe of the Seoul Forest area really well, and it was also a pretty space for photos!! 💖

Outside there are tables for 2 to 4 people, and on a sunny day it looked like a lovely spot to eat while soaking up the sunshine.

I'd booked ahead this time, so I was able to get seated without any rush — if you're going with a larger group, reserving ahead for the seats you want seems like a good idea.

Inside Billadeubeulleu Seongsu: mood and seating

Going inside, there were quite a lot of seats, plus an inner space styled to feel like a terrace, so the place felt more spacious than I expected.

With the white and blue color scheme carrying through, it felt clean overall while also giving off a European restaurant vibe.

The space itself is nice for photos too, so it works well as a date spot, and it also seemed like a good choice for a slightly more atmospheric hangout with friends.

So for anyone looking for a Seoul Forest Italian restaurant for a date, this place should fit the mood well, and since the space doesn't feel cramped even with a group, it also seems like a good option for a Seoul Forest group meal.

What is on the menu at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu?

Looking at the menu, it wasn't just one or two signature dishes — it was set up nicely for a group to each order something different and share. The signature dishes included aligot cheese lasagna, butter sizzling steak, polpo mambo, and abalone squid-ink risotto, and the pasta lineup ranged from Sicilian puttanesca to chorizo rosé calamarata.

There were also non-pasta options like gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi and Korean beef pepper steak, so it seemed good for ordering a bunch of different things to share among a group. You could also add brunch cocktails, wine, or radler, so it was fun to lightly set the mood even at lunch.

After some deliberation, we ordered the aligot cheese lasagna and the Sicilian puttanesca pasta, plus gnocchi fritti on the side.

Aligot cheese lasagna topped with cheese

Aligot cheese lasagna, 22,000 won: the tableside cheese pour

I ordered the aligot cheese lasagna since it's supposedly a signature dish!

It's layered lasagna sheets with tomato sauce and meat in between, topped with aligot cheese, and when you order it, the staff comes over and pours the cheese on right in front of you. They bring the cheese in a container and spread it thinly over the lasagna with a big spatula — watching it happen right in front of you was genuinely fun.

The cheese layer was thinner than I expected, so it wasn't overwhelming eaten together with the lasagna, and the tomato base flavor came through pretty clearly.

There was finely minced meat inside too, and eating it with the tomato sauce gave a bit of an oven-roasted tomato spaghetti feel!? Though for my taste, the seasoning was a touch strong!

Still, with the cheese adding a nutty richness, overall it was really tasty, and if you like cheese it's worth ordering at least once. Personally, if you're looking for a pasta place near Seoul Forest, this seems like a good dish to order together with others and share.

Sicilian puttanesca pasta, 19,000 won

The Sicilian puttanesca pasta is a southern Italian tomato-oil pasta with olives, capers, anchovies, and tomato — the slightly red sauce came with a pretty generous amount of ingredients.

Sicilian puttanesca pasta with olives and capers

The sauce was well absorbed into the noodles, and the bright tomato flavor came through first, with the salty notes of olives and capers coming in between so it wasn't monotonous. The olives especially had that distinctive scent and texture when chewed, and the capers popped in with a bit of tang that pulled the whole flavor together.

There were anchovies in it, but the fishy taste wasn't overpowering — the tomato and oil blended together so it ate cleaner than I expected.

If the lasagna was a heavy combination of cheese and tomato, the puttanesca pasta had more of that salty, bright flavor from its ingredients, so I was glad we ordered both together. Given that combination, it seems fine to visit as a Seoul Forest date Italian restaurant and add another dish to share alongside one pasta.

Pasta and lasagna served together

Gnocchi fritti, 9,000 won, with aioli sauce

We ordered the gnocchi fritti as a light side. It's gnocchi coated in herb crumble and fried, so the outside was crispy while the inside kept a chewy texture.

Eating it, it felt a bit like eating fried, slightly chewy potatoes, but the gnocchi's own soft texture was still there.

Dipping it in the accompanying aioli sauce added a creamy touch, and with a bit of minced garlic in it, the sauce itself didn't feel overly heavy.

It was nice to pick up a piece here and there while eating the pasta and lasagna, and the portion was just right as a side.

Terrace or indoors at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu: where to sit

Since this visit doubled as a walk through Seoul Forest, what stuck with me wasn't just the food but the relaxed feeling of the space itself.

Sunlit view of the Billadeubeulleu Seongsu terrace

The Billadeubeulleu Seongsu terrace is a seat that's quite weather-dependent, so on a sunny, cool day you can really enjoy the atmosphere. And on days with bad weather, you have the option of sitting indoors, which is nice to have.

The food had a wide range of menu options overall, so it was easy for a group to pick according to their tastes, and ordering one dish each to share worked well. If you're looking for a Seoul Forest group-meal restaurant, the spacious seating is a plus, and for a couple, sitting outside for a slow meal makes it a good Seoul Forest date Italian restaurant too.

Personally, the cheese performance with the lasagna was fun, and I liked the salty flavor the ingredients brought to the puttanesca pasta.

Next time, I'd like to try the gnocchi or risotto dishes I didn't get to this time. I'd love to come back on another sunny day and try something different in the sunshine.
