Pangyo Korean BBQ lunch: pork belly for two with kimchi jjigae: Dwaeji

I used to be a meat person more than a sashimi person, but somewhere along the way I started liking sashimi too... though I guess if you don't eat meat when you're craving it, it just doesn't sit right. So in the end, I'm someone who loves both.

For the past few days I've been craving pork belly so badly haha. I'm the type who has to eat what she's craving, so off I went right away~! A close friend of mine and I had already made plans to meet up and chat, and she mentioned wanting to try Dwaeji Mansion, a well-known spot in Pangyo Avenue France — and I was curious too! So that's how this visit happened, and this is the story of how I ate really delicious pork belly! Hahahahaha.

We visited this Pangyo Avenue France favorite, Dwaeji Mansion, during lunchtime haha. Everyone has their own schedule these days, so meeting up during the day for lunch felt so nice. Dwaeji Mansion has an open kitchen layout, which gave me a sense of trust, and it felt really clean and tidy haha.

The weather was so nice on the day we visited that the view outside the window turned out really pretty! And since it was right at that hungry lunchtime hour, I really wanted to eat pork belly fast. Dwaeji Mansion also serves lunch, so I think it'd be great for people working in Pangyo to stop by for lunch haha.

Ordering pork belly for two, kimchi jjigae, and two bowls of rice

We ordered two servings of pork belly, a kimchi jjigae (spicy kimchi stew), and two bowls of rice! It's a perfect combination for lunch, honestly ~~ The kimchi jjigae was a real highlight!

Once we ordered, they quickly got the pork belly ready, and I loved that they brought minari, scallion, mushroom and garlic to pair with it — such a good combination :) Hahaha. Ugh, looking at these photos is making me hungry again... ㅠ.ㅠ

Staff grilled the meat, so we could just focus on chatting

And the quality of Dwaeji Mansion's meat is no joke, right? The pork belly was thick and looked so appetizing :) They grilled it really well too, which made this such a satisfying Pangyo pork belly spot!!! Haha, how about some pork and soju today, huh? Hahahahaha.

It came out golden brown and perfectly grilled! Such a nice, relaxed meal to enjoy!

Spicy kimchi jjigae and grilled vegetables

As the meat finished grilling, the kimchi jjigae arrived too, packed with meat inside and spicy enough to cut through the richness — so good. Rice + pork belly + kimchi jjigae is truly the ultimate combination.

The grilled vegetables were arranged so neatly :) You know how they say food that looks good also tastes good? Hahaha.

They keep placing the meat up here so it stays warm while you eat — such a nice touch haha.

A portion big enough to stuff two women, plus a wasabi pairing

Eating it with a bit of wasabi on top is also delicious ㅠㅠ If you're looking for a good spot in Pangyo Avenue France or a great pork belly restaurant, I really think you should try Dwaeji Mansion haha.

Eating it with all the different side pairings meant it never got repetitive, and it was so delicious — I'd definitely recommend this Pangyo Avenue France spot, Dwaeji Mansion. I'll have to visit again haha.
