Gangnam Korean BBQ date night with beef rib meat and split naengmyeon
In short
Bongu Hwarro is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gangnam Station Exit 11 in Seoul, run for nearly 20 years. On a weekday evening visit with no reservation, two servings of beef rib meat, one of woo-samgyeop (thinly sliced beef belly), and the sin hangari gawi naengmyeon — a bowl combining both mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon — were ordered, with the grilled green onion kimchi stealing the show. Bongu Hwarro is a solid pick for anyone who wants to try several cuts plus an unusual naengmyeon in one sitting.

I've been really into hunting down Gangnam Station restaurants lately, and today's story starts with me looking for a BBQ place after work on a weekday.

Let me tell you about the Gangnam Station BBQ spot I went to on a weekday evening date with my boyfriend!
A BBQ restaurant near Gangnam Station Exit 11: Bongu Hwarro
Bongu Hwarro (봉우화로), a BBQ restaurant near Nonhyeon CGV in Seoul.

It's right near Gangnam Station Exit 11, so accessibility is top notch, and since it was a weekday evening we still got a table with no reservation. It's open weekdays from 11:30 AM to 11:30 PM, so you can drop by for lunch or dinner without worry.

The menu!

Can you get a table on a weekday evening without a reservation?
Maybe because it was a weekday evening, there was plenty of room even without a reservation, and the restaurant was bigger and more comfortable than I expected — great vibe for a date.
There's also a big space further inside, so it works for group gatherings too! Paid parking is available, there's Wi-Fi, and they take group bookings, so it seems to double as a company dinner spot???
Apparently this place was originally known for thinly sliced meat, and it got so popular that a second-floor branch called Bongu Icheungjip opened!
The interior was clean the moment we walked in, and the whole place felt spacious and comfortable! Near the entrance there was even a ramyeon machine and ice cream!!
Nearly 20 years of know-how
From soy-marinated crab to green onion kimchi, so many side dishes! I checked reviews around and it turns out Bongu Hwarro is famous for having held its ground near Gangnam Station for a long time.
Bongu Hwarro's 20th anniversary event: half price on meat refills
Bongu Hwarro's event menu — from meat to side dishes to drinks, there's so much!

Bongu Hwarro, a Gangnam Station samgyeopsal spot, is currently offering 50% off meat refills for its 20th anniversary!!!! Plus one free Han River ramyeon per person;; is that even allowed.

Beef rib meat, 2 servings — how's the quality?
True to its reputation as a Gangnam Station samgyeopsal favorite, the meat quality was insane.

We ordered beef rib meat, 2 servings! Order complete. The portion was pretty generous!

For reference, the fire comes out a little late! Guess they're busy.
That distinctive rich juiciness and tender texture were totally my type. Maybe that's why every detail, from the meat quality to the side dish lineup, had that feel of a place that's been running the game a long time.

There was just the right amount of fat too, so it wasn't greasy, and the more you chewed, the nuttier it got. Beef usually runs pricey, but thanks to this event you can enjoy it without worry!

Sauces and green onion kimchi
Spicy sauce / wasabi / salt. The sauce had a bit of a kick!
They also serve green onion kimchi — please grill it and try it, I'm begging youㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ. Seriously insane flavor.

You absolutely must wrap it in lettuceㅜㅜㅜ, please.
Finishing with sin hangari gawi naengmyeon
To finish, sin hangari gawi naengmyeon! Long name, but anyway, so good.

After eating our fill of meat, the dish we ordered to wrap up: sin hangari gawi naengmyeon!

This is a genuinely special dish — it lets you taste both mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) and bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) in one bowl, so it's perfect for anyone who wants both. The cool broth and the sweet-spicy sauce balance each other really well.

The cool broth and the sweet-spicy sauce come together to cleanly reset your palate after all that meat. Being able to find such a unique naengmyeon at a BBQ restaurant is what sets Bongu Hwarro apart!
Adding woo-samgyeop, 1 serving
Palate reset done, we ordered woo-samgyeop, 1 serving.

A bigger portion of woo-samgyeop than expected. It stuck together a little, but pull it apart carefully and you're fine. The woo-samgyeop was pre-marinated too, which added charm!
You know how naengmyeon has to be cut into small pieces! Just my personal rule...

Who would I recommend this to
For anyone who wants to enjoy a variety of cuts — samgyeopsal, beef rib meat, woo-samgyeop — all in one place, plus taste an unusual naengmyeon on the side, I confidently recommend this as a Gangnam Station favorite!

If you're looking for a Gangnam Station BBQ restaurant with the full trio of value, atmosphere, and taste, I highly recommend Bongu Hwarro! Especially that early half-price deal on the second serving was such a solid perk that I'd hate to miss it — I definitely want to come back and enjoy it again!
