Weekday parking and cookies at a Suwon café: Jeong Ji-young Coffee

In short

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch is a five-story stand-alone café in the middle of Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Visiting on a weekday afternoon for her husband's birthday, the writer walked 10 minutes to the café, found the public parking lot next door already full at 2pm and many seats taken, then ordered coconut coffee, a café latte and cookies. Given the interior and the coffee at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters, the prices felt worth it.

A 10-minute walk to Haenggung-dong for my husband's birthday

Today's my husband's birthday. So I took a day off, ate something delicious, and went to a café. Haenggung-dong, walkable from home~~ I love that so much ^^ After about 10 minutes of walking, we arrived~

Parking in Haenggung-dong: full even on a weekday afternoon

But the heat of Haenggung-dong doesn't seem to have died down yet. It was a weekday around 2pm, and the public parking lot was already full~

I guess in Haenggung-dong you really either skip the car or park somewhere a bit farther away! But if you absolutely need to drive, try the public parking lot right next door ^^ (though I'd honestly recommend not bringing a car lol — if you pull in and then decide it's not going to work, getting stuck in the middle is awkward lol)

What kind of café is Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch?

The café we went to today is Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung-dong Main Branch! Maybe because it's the main branch, they use the whole building on their own. It seems to sit right in the middle of Haenggung-dong!

It's five stories total, but seating doesn't go all the way up to the fifth floor. There's even a separate space where you can learn to make coffee~ ^^ My husband asked, "If I learn coffee here, could I open a Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters shop?" — which sounded kind of plausible..? lol But I honestly had no idea, so I told him I didn't know. Does anyone know? lol

The interior is done up super hip and I loved it! You have to go down to basement level 1 to order~~ Check out the vibe here ^^ Lots of foreign visitors were coming in too~~

They're also selling a lot of cute, dainty little goods, so if you want one, feel free to buy~ It felt like there was more stuff than when I went to the Lotte Premium Outlet Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters before~ Maybe because this is the main branch..?

Hours and last order at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters

Opening time is 11am and closing is 10pm. Last order is at 9:50pm, so keep that in mind. Right at the final closing time it'd be hard to actually sit and eat~ It says there are no regular days off.

Ordering coconut coffee, a café latte and cookies

What we ordered were café latte and coconut coffee!! I heard they've sold 1.11 million cups, so I'd already tried it once before at the Uiwang Lotte Premium Outlet. But it was so good that I ordered it again.

Coconut coffee placed on the table

My husband got the café latte~~^^ He doesn't like coconut, so even though he was about to order the same thing, he switched to a café latte. I told him for sure it'd be a crowd-pleaser, but he said coconut has never once tasted good to him, so he passed lol

Drinks and dessert on the table

And then he stole a sip of mine and said it was way too delicious lol saying we should trade lol

And we can't skip dessert, right?! We were going to get cake but he said he was too full and suggested something simple like cookies instead~ So we ordered cookies too, and even though he acted like he wasn't going to eat them, my husband finished them all~ That's how good they were~ It's basically turning into a Jeong Ji-young café tour at this point lol, but next time we're planning to go check out a spot in Haenggung-dong with a nice view lol

How the coffee tastes and what it costs

The coffee was genuinely nutty, a little sweet, and really delicious! A slight coconut aroma was totally my thing, and my husband's café latte was also nutty and tasty~ And honestly, for this level of quality, the price wasn't bad~ Of course you can't compare it to Me0 Coffee or Comp0se Coffee! But considering the interior and the coffee, the money didn't feel wasted~

Seats, blankets and the receipt holder

Even though it was a weekday, quite a few seats were taken~ On weekends it looks nearly full! They said blankets are available on cold days, so grab one if you need it!

And I noticed people had stuck their receipts into the table holders lol You're not really supposed to, but it somehow matches the café's vibe so well,,lol We thought about doing it too but ended up not sticking one in~

Café table with a receipt stuck in the holder

That's how we wrapped things up — about an hour of chatting with my husband, followed by a walk around the neighborhood~ See you next time at the Jeong Ji-young café with the great view! lol
