Why I went back to Nyanya

One Hong Kong waffle was enough to make me decide to revisit. I'd been to Nyanya once before with my friends for a get-together, and the atmosphere and the cats kept popping into my head afterward, so this time I went back.

What kind of café is Nyanya?

It's a large cat-concept café in Gojan-dong, Ansan. Looking closely at the store's characters, they actually seem to be modeled on two real cats the owners keep. The moment I walked in, the mascot cats on the cat tower were the first thing that caught my eye. If you love cats, that alone might be reason enough to visit.

Can you actually see the cats at Nyanya?

Yes, you can see them directly at the cat tower, and there's even a feeding experience. It's not just decorative — the café was actually running a feeding experience event at the time. I thought it would be even more fun for kids or cat lovers coming together.

Nyanya's signature: the seasonal-fruit Hong Kong waffle

The handmade Hong Kong waffle piled high with seasonal fruit is the signature item. We ordered an americano and a decaf americano each and waited for the waffle — maybe because it was the seasonal fruit version, it came out in a big size with fruit really piled on top. Since the fresh fruit menu changes with the season and it's made in-house, the taste was even more impressive. It was my first time trying a Hong Kong waffle, and it was well worth it as a special treat.

Best seats at Nyanya for group photos

The place is spacious and pretty much every seat is a photo spot. Nyanya's interior is genuinely huge, so wherever you sit becomes a photo zone. From the moment I walked in the sense of space stood out so much I thought, 'it'd be a shame not to take photos here,' and indeed every seating area has lighting and props carefully arranged, so photos came out pretty no matter where we shot.

The interior tone leans cozy and tasteful rather than flashy, so it was comfortable to sit for a long time without the space feeling tiring on the eyes. The soft lighting and warm-toned props blended together so nicely that just walking through the café felt visually pleasant.

The big mirror in one corner of the café was especially great as a group photo spot. Even with several of us friends together, we could fit everyone in one frame, so we got naturally nice photos without having to fuss over angles. Thanks to that, I ended up with a ton of photos from that day.

With so many photogenic corners around the store, I suddenly found myself wanting to bring my son here sometime too. It's already this fun taking photos with adults, so I imagine coming with a kid would make for a different kind of enjoyable memory.

How to park free at Nyanya

Using the World Town parking lot gets you free parking, conditionally. The first 30 minutes are free, and you get 1 free hour per ₩10,000 spent, up to a maximum of 2 hours. Skip this info and you might end up regretting the parking fee, so keep it in mind.
