Where is Tomoru Bakery in Songdo?
I was craving bread in Songdo, so I stopped by Tomoru Bakery. It's located on the 1st floor of 23 Haedoji-ro 120beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon — I had errands nearby and dropped in to look around. I usually like to slowly browse the display case at a bakery and pick whatever I'm in the mood for that day, and here too there was a good variety to enjoy looking at.
Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the nutty, warm smell of bread. That classic bakery aroma pulled my eyes straight to the shelves. From savory breads you could eat as a meal, to snack-friendly breads, to sweet desserts — the range was wide enough that I had to pause and think about what to pick.
These days a lot of bakeries lean heavily toward pretty, dessert-style breads, but Tomoru Bakery had plenty of familiar, easy-to-eat breads too, which I liked. From plain sliced bread for breakfast to savory breads for when you're hungry to desserts that go well with coffee, there were enough options to pick according to your mood.

What does the leaf-shaped pizza bread taste like?
First, the leaf-shaped pizza bread caught my eye because, true to its name, its shape was a bit different from a typical pizza bread. The outside had a slight crispness while the inside was soft — the texture was pretty good.
The salty, savory flavor typical of pizza bread came through nicely, making it good as a snack, and it was more filling than I expected, so it could work as a light meal replacement too.

Leaf-shaped vs pastry pizza bread: how the textures differ
The pastry pizza bread had that distinct layered pastry texture, unlike a regular pizza bread, so the mouthfeel was clearly different. The outside was lightly crisp while the inside had multiple flaky layers, which was fun to chew through.

You get the salty flavor of pizza bread along with the nutty richness of pastry at the same time, and between the two pizza breads, this one personally left a slightly stronger impression.
Even though they're both pizza breads, the leaf-shaped one and the pastry one felt quite different, so it was fun trying them together. If you like a soft, filling pizza bread, go for the leaf-shaped one; if you like something crisp with visible layers, the pastry version suits you better.
Finishing with an egg tart from Tomoru Bakery
I had the egg tart as dessert after the pizza breads. The pastry shell had noticeable layers while the inside was soft and moist, so the contrast in texture was nice. Rather than a heavy dessert, it felt like a good pick when you want something light and sweet to have with coffee.

Eating all three together made for a fun lineup. Enjoying the salty, savory flavors of the leaf-shaped and pastry pizza breads and then finishing sweet with the egg tart meant none of the flavors overlapped, which I liked.

What else is on the display case at Tomoru Bakery
Tomoru Bakery was also a fun place just to browse the range of breads. When a bakery's display is limited, you tend to pick quickly, but here there was enough variety that I ended up slowly looking around. Even if I planned to grab just one or two, other breads kept catching my eye and I ended up adding more, one by one.
If you eat bread as a meal replacement, the savory bread section is worth checking out. Rather than only sweet bread, something salty like pizza bread is filling and works well as a simple meal. The leaf-shaped and pastry pizza breads I had this time were great for that purpose.

On the other hand, on days when you just want a light snack, something easy like salt bread or an egg tart works well too. Beyond salt bread, egg tarts, and sliced breads, there's also plain bread like rye fig bread and a variety of savory breads, so the range of choices is pretty wide.
One reason I like bakeries is being able to pick several different styles of bread at one shop, and Tomoru Bakery had that same appeal. Whether you like plain bread or sweet bread, it seemed like a good place to visit with someone who has a different preference, since everyone can pick what they want.
Also, since the display and freshness of bread can feel a little different depending on when you visit, it's worth actually browsing the case in person. On a day you're craving bread, slowly looking around and picking whatever appeals to you most seems like the best approach. Paired with a cup of coffee, it would also make a nice afternoon snack.

Personally, at a bakery I tend to prefer salty savory bread and plain bread over anything too sweet, and the breads I picked this time suited my taste well.
