Restaurant busy with customers before dinner time

I ate a bit before dinner time and it was already busy. Interestingly there were foreign customers too. And the reason so many people visit — the unlimited chip refills!

Unlimited chip and drink refills at the self-bar

Bas Burger Seongsu really does have unlimited chip refills. Plus the drinks are refillable too, which is a steal. There aren't many burger places these days that refill drinks, so this place feels even more value-packed.

There was also a free beer tasting event going on, along with a Naver receipt event. Join the Naver receipt event and get a free chili mozza cheese bar or a glass of Bas Lager beer.

Choosing the menu before ordering

After much deliberation, I went with the Double Bas Burger set with the side swapped to onion rings, plus a chili mozza cheese bar and Bas Lager.

How does the Double Bas Burger set taste?

Bas Burger, a Seoul Forest restaurant. The Double Bas Burger set arrived with onion rings, a chili mozza cheese bar, and Bas Lager.

Cross-section of the thick Double Bas Burger

I tried the burger first — it was thick, and the beef patty was chewy. The burger's special sauce tasted like melted cheese, soft and creamy.

Double beef patties with lettuce and tomato

The onions, lettuce, and tomato were all fresh, and since the beef patty was doubled, the grilled and meaty flavors surged even more richly.

Plate of unlimited refill chips

Refilling the chips as many times as you like

Bas Burger, a Seoul Forest restaurant. The unlimited refill chips weren't greasy at all — light and clean. I thought they'd be made rich and heavy on purpose, but they were a bit thick and crispy, so even a small amount filled me up.

Chips seasoned with pepper and salt from the self-bar

Nobody gave me a hard time about refilling, so I'd highly recommend it for solo dining! It was also convenient to season the chips with pepper and salt at the self-bar.

Chili mozza cheese bar side dish

Chili mozza cheese bar with a Bas Lager

The chili mozza cheese bar is a side menu that's trending on social media, so I had high expectations. I took one bite and — huh??

Cross-section of the chili mozza cheese bar after one bite

It was the best chili cheese Nashville-style bar I've ever had. It tasted like the chicken skewers I used to eat at snack bars as a kid — the cheese was savory and not too spicy, so it's a fun flavor anyone can enjoy.

Chili mozza cheese bar with a draft Bas Lager

It's highly addictive and spicy-sweet, so it paired really well with the Bas Lager. The Bas Lager has crisp, popping bubbles and a soft, fragrant, sweet flavor. At 4.7% ABV, its refreshing taste made it easy and light to drink while dining alone. The best!

Onion rings, the swapped side dish

The onion rings were sweet and fresh.

Full spread of the Double Bas Burger and sides

The Double Bas Burger had a grilled all-beef-patty flavor with a thick, creamy sauce, and the chili mozza cheese bar was highly addictive paired with beer. The Bas Lager was also a great value beer to drink while dining solo.
