Inside Olla Poke Munjeong: easy for solo diners

The interior of Olla Poke Munjeong Main Branch was clean and bright overall. It had that fresh, just-opened new-spot feeling.

The tables weren't crammed together, so it didn't feel awkward eating alone at all!

I actually saw other customers eating poke alone, and since the accessibility near Munjeong Station is so good, I also saw a lot of office workers dropping in for their Munjeong lunch.

I've been going to salad places a lot lately while managing my diet, and I liked that this place felt comfortable like a regular restaurant rather than too simple or bare.

Olla Poke menu and how to choose your base

Poke menu board at Olla Poke Munjeong Main Branch

Poke is Olla Poke's signature dish! You can choose your base from buckwheat noodles, salad, or oat brown rice. Olla Poke basically pairs vegetables with grains and protein, and there were so many poke options — salmon, tuna, shrimp, steak, duck, chicken breast, avocado, and more — giving you a really wide range of choices. Among them, the garlic shrimp poke and Super Protein poke are the popular picks that caught my eye! (Sadly, the Super Protein poke was sold out ㅠㅠ)

Guide to Olla Poke's homemade sauce varieties

Olla Poke Munjeong prepares fresh vegetables every morning and apparently uses raw salmon and tuna as well. The sauces are also made in-house, which affects the flavor a lot — just looking at the variety of sauces tells you Olla Poke is serious about their salads.

Let's try Olla Poke, a Munjeong Station salad restaurant where you can customize freely with your favorite ingredients and base!

Taste test: garlic shrimp poke vs steak poke

We ordered two bowls: the Garlic Shrimp Poke (₩11,500) and the Steak Poke (₩14,500). One reason I love poke is that you get vegetables, carbs and protein all in one bowl! The vegetables come pre-seasoned with a signature soy-based sauce, plus an additional sauce that pairs well.

Garlic shrimp poke: yuzu soy base with chili garlic mayo

A poke loaded with shrimp, my favorite! The shrimp grilled with a subtle garlic aroma is a special treat. Plump, plump big shrimp and all kinds of poke ingredients fill the bowl. The base soy sauce is a fragrant yuzu soy, and the recommended sauce, chili garlic mayo, came alongside it.

Eating salad can sometimes feel like you're just chewing vegetables over and over and get boring, right? But Olla Poke's tasty poke is already seasoned well, so it's delicious even plain, and dipping or pouring on the homemade chili garlic mayo sauce makes it even better!!

Poke ingredients including pineapple, chickpeas and lentils

Just looking at the plump shrimp and the mountain of vegetables tells you how generous it is. Pineapple, chickpeas, lentils, corn, oat rice, and more — probably because they're fresh, the crunchy texture really came through! The combination of hearty ingredients was excellent too.

Steak poke: sesame soy base with wasabi mayo

This was my partner's pick when we wanted something heartier — the ultimate high-protein Steak Poke. Can you see how generous the amount of steak is?? The vegetables come pre-seasoned with the base sesame soy sauce, and the recommended sauce was wasabi mayo.

Eating meat with vegetables together definitely feels filling, and just like the shrimp poke, it's packed with various grains too, so it never felt like it was lacking as a full meal.

Does Olla Poke work as a diet lunch?

From experience, if you eat too lightly while managing your diet... ㅎ you end up hungry in the afternoon or at night and reaching for snacks anyway. Getting a meal this hearty and healthy at Olla Poke, a Munjeong salad restaurant, felt so good.

I think a diet meal isn't about eating as little as possible — it's about eating what you actually want to eat, in a healthy way, and that's a much more sustainable way to keep up a diet!

Fresh vegetables plus protein and grains, with delicious matching homemade sauces — Olla Poke felt like a genuinely hearty meal. It's a Munjeong Station salad restaurant I'd happily revisit, and I'd especially recommend it as a solo-dining spot for the Munjeong legal district!
