Gijang, Busan crab restaurant taking Onnuri vouchers: 1.8kg bakdal
In short
Gijang Myeongpum Daegae is a snow crab and king crab restaurant inside Gijang Market in Busan. On a browse through the market a family picked a 1.8kg bakdal snow crab, watched it weighed with the basket taken off the scale, steamed for 25 minutes, checked the price list dated September 18, 2026, paid with Onnuri gift vouchers and parked in the restaurant's own coin lot. Full, meaty claws and a self-serve side dish bar made Gijang Myeongpum Daegae a satisfying family meal.

I went to Gijang Market to browse the seafood and ended up having lunch at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae (기장명품대게), famous as a Busan Gijang crab restaurant 🦀

A premium crab bar 👍 that's also appeared on Stocking, 1 Night 2 Days, and Master in the House!

Parking at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae: how the coin lot works
Gijang Myeongpum Daegae has its own parking lot, so it was easy to park the car even with a Gijang Market outing planned. There were staff directing parking right from the main road, and since it's right next door it was easy to find 👍 Plenty of spots too. It's coin parking, so mention it when you pay and they'll give you coins ☺️ (they even asked if I forgot).
After parking, go in through the back door — the sign says 'Myeongpum Daegae' so it's easy to spot.
Picking a 1.8kg bakdal snow crab, weighed without the basket
On the 1st floor of Gijang Myeongpum Daegae, you pick your king crab or snow crab in person. We went with a 1.8kg bakdal (extra-thick-legged) snow crab ^^ We browsed the king crabs and snow crabs on the 1st floor, and when it was our turn the owner picked one out for us~ We had fun watching and waiting until it was our turn ☺️ Even in the owner's sturdy hands, it looked huge 👍

The owner at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae honestly shows you the fixed price and weighs the crab without the basket 👍

And then they show you a comparison! Once you add the basket, the price jumps up. Gijang Myeongpum Daegae is a genuinely honest crab restaurant 👍

They steam it right there next to you~

What do snow crab and king crab cost in Gijang in September 2026?
Gijang Myeongpum Daegae's price board, as of September 18, 2026, started at ₩80,000/kg for Grade A snow crab. Lots of Chinese visitors come, so the prices are posted clearly as fixed prices for them to see. The group ahead of us was Chinese, and the owner spoke some basic Chinese and English too — looked like foreign guests wouldn't have any trouble ☺️
- Grade A snow crab: ₩80,000/kg
- Grade A snow crab (broken legs): ₩55,000/kg
- Top-grade snow crab (high yield): ₩90,000/kg
- Hokkaido snow crab: ₩65,000/kg
- Brown king crab: ₩100,000/kg
- Red king crab (female): ₩95,000/kg
- Red king crab (male): ₩120,000/kg
The notice at the bottom read: 'When weighing, the basket weight is not included — only the crab is placed on the scale for the actual weight. Beyond just the price, we want to prepare a memorable, excellent meal for you. We'll recommend the crab in the best condition that day so you can enjoy the best flavor.' ☺️
On top of that, domestic red crab is ₩35,000/kg and lobster is ₩50,000/500g.
If you pre-order through Naver, you get 10% off, so I'd recommend reserving ahead ‼️ (If you just order there, you'll pay full price.) ❗️Order placed, now heading upstairs❗️ Steaming takes 25 minutes 🦀

Second-floor seating and the self-serve side dish bar
The 2nd floor at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae is reached by elevator and has a large hall, a spacious private area, and partitioned seating 👍 There are high chairs and disposable self-serve aprons too.
The table comes set up like this, and the aluminum bucket is for tossing in crab shells and the like. Side dishes aren't set on the table separately — instead there's a self-serve bar zone like this. You just grab whatever you feel like eating ☺️

The batter on the fried items is thin and delicious, and there's boiled glutinous corn — my kids' absolute favorite. It's so soft that they ate it up 😍

I'm hooked on the fried sweet pumpkin, and the kids are hooked on the corn 😆
Table charge is ₩5,000 from elementary school age. Disposable gloves are provided too haha.
Bakdal snow crab meat yield, crab shell and fried rice
Finally, the crab we'd been waiting for arrived ❤️ Since the party ahead of us took a while, they even gave us a red crab as a free extra 👍
The rich crab roe — oh man, it was truly savory!! I kept dipping and slurping it up nonstop 🫣
The meat yield was incredible hahaha, completely packed in. We scraped every bit off the leg meat too.

The claw legs, wow hahaha, so plump and incredibly savory 👍

The body was packed with meat too, with slits cut in so it's easy to split open and scrape out ☺️ Plump, plump claw meat 🦀
Fried rice is a must!! Order the fried rice and it comes with a doenjang (soybean paste) stew made with crab legs 👍 The fried rice wasn't too heavily seasoned, so my daughter ate it happily too ❤️
Would I go back to Gijang Myeongpum Daegae?
Located right inside Gijang Market, with its own parking lot, and run by an owner who does business honestly! Good-looking and truly kind too 👍 And we had a really satisfying meal with high-yield crab. I also liked that the side dishes were self-serve — you only take what you want to eat ❗️ Being in the market, Onnuri gift certificates worked too, which was a nice bonus ‼️ For family gatherings or another crab trip to Gijang, I'd go back to Gijang Myeongpum Daegae ❤️
