Mi goreng with milder spice at Rama & Bavana, a Daegu Asian restaurant
In short
Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch is an Indian and Asian restaurant on Yonghak-ro in Suseong-gu, Daegu. On a weekday visit after 5 p.m., the order was nasi goreng and mi goreng at 16,000 won each and tandoori cream chicken at 14,000 won, and the mi goreng spice level was toned down on request. The spices at Rama & Bavana are not overpowering, so it is worth trying even if Indian and Asian food is new to you.

Momo C, working hard both physically and mentally, headed to Suseong Lake for a delicious dinner at the long-running local favorite 'Rama & Bavana' 🍛 💨💨

Momo C tends to get off work early, so we arrived a little after 5 and the lot was pretty spacious 👍🏻 But since there are no marked parking lines here, once cars pile in, getting out can get tricky 🤣🤣 it was a struggle, haha 🤣 Still, just having a parking lot at all near Suseong Lake is a huge plus 👌🏻
Suseong Lake view seats and the dining room
Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building across from Suseong Lake, and it's known as a lake-view spot thanks to the big windows overlooking the water. Even though it wasn't yet 6 p.m., the place was already packed, so we sadly didn't get one of the lake-view seats.

True to its reputation as a Suseong Lake spot on the 2nd floor across from the lake, we walked past the waiting seats to get in 😉 It wasn't even 6 yet and the place was already full 🫢 Rama & Bavana is also famous for its lake view, but unfortunately we didn't get a lake-view seat this time. 🤣 So close~~
Warm wood tones, soft lighting 💡 and big windows looking out at Suseong Lake~ 🪟 Overall a cozy, comfortable atmosphere at Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch 🍛
Rama & Bavana menu and prices
On this visit we ordered nasi goreng at ₩16,000, mi goreng at ₩16,000, and tandoori cream chicken at ₩14,000 from Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch. Alongside Indian curries, they also serve Asian dishes like mi goreng and nasi goreng.

Back in the day (in my "latte" era, ha), Rama & Bavana was very well known as an Indian food specialist, but now they also serve mi goreng, nasi goreng, and more — so it's a spot for exploring a variety of Asian dishes beyond just Indian food 🍛
We ordered:
- Nasi goreng ₩16,000
- Mi goreng ₩16,000
- Tandoori cream chicken ₩14,000
Order placed 😎 I genuinely agonized for about 5 minutes over curry versus nasi goreng 🥲 In the end we decided to save curry for next time, and went with the nasi goreng that caught my eye in the photos!!! 🍳🍚
+ The receipt review event salad is delicious, so definitely take part and get one 🩵
How do the tandoori cream chicken, mi goreng and nasi goreng taste?
Of the three dishes we had at Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch, the tandoori cream chicken was our top pick. The mi goreng's spice level is adjustable, and we asked for it milder; the nasi goreng felt like a seafood fried rice wrapped in naan.

First up, the pickles and the salad we got from the review event! 🥗 Loaded with assorted vegetables, cherry tomatoes, pineapple, and cheese, it was fresh and light — great to snack on!

Then our food arrived one by one — tandoori cream chicken, nasi goreng, and mi goreng!! 🍗🍛🍝
Tandoori cream chicken, 14,000 won
⭐️ Momo C's top pick was the tandoori cream chicken ⭐️ Even though it's grilled crisp, the chicken isn't dry at all — it's juicy. Best of all, the spices weren't overpowering, so even spice-shy Momo C could enjoy it fully! 🤣🤣🤣 The cream sauce underneath the chicken was rich and smooth too, pairing perfectly with the chicken 😋 Personally, this was my favorite dish of the day!
Mi goreng, 16,000 won, with an adjustable spice level
Next up, mi goreng 🍝 Since the spice level is adjustable, we asked for it milder, and the spice control was spot on!! It had plump shrimp and what I think was baby octopus — plenty of seafood — and the flavor works even for those worried about spices 🍝
Overall, it leans less toward intense spice and more toward flavors that suit Korean palates, so it seems like a good place for first-timers to Indian and Asian food to give it a try. 😊
Nasi goreng, 16,000 won
The nasi goreng we were looking forward to!! 🥘 Wrapped in naan, it felt like a seafood fried rice — appropriately spicy, packed with shrimp, baby octopus, and other seafood, and best of all loaded with cheese for a rich, savory finish! 🧀😋

Is Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch worth a visit?
The two of us ate until we were completely stuffed,,, and still ended up packing the leftover tandoori chicken and nasi goreng to go 🤣🤣 If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant by Suseong Lake, I'd recommend Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch, where you can dine with a view of the lake! 🍛
