Bueokgan✨ is one of Gwangju's go-to spots for Western food, and today I visited the Suwan branch. This neighborhood is quiet and peaceful — it's a bit far from where I live, but it's always nice whenever I come.
Inside Bueokgan Suwan Branch: pink walls and green trees
The interior is so pretty...🥹💗 It has an exotic vibe that makes it feel like a café. The pink interior paired with the green plants is just gorgeous.

Bueokgan's signature pumpkin soup (₩8,000). They say it's carefully made in-house from fresh pumpkin 🎃 I usually order the pastry-topped pumpkin soup, but today I wanted something clean and light, so I went with the plain version!
Scooping it into the cute little soup dish haha. As expected, the pure pumpkin flavor really came through — rich and delicious.
Ta-da✨ These pickles are house-made, so they weren't too sweet — refreshing and even more delicious for it.
Abalone cream risotto, 20,000 won
Abalone cream risotto (₩20,000). A risotto with a rich abalone-liver sauce and cream, combined with abalone and clam meat, topped with fried enoki mushrooms.
A little thick, but soft and rich — so good 🥹 Not a hint of fishy taste, just the savory, deep flavor of abalone and cream working perfectly together.
Seafood tomato pasta, 19,000 won
Seafood tomato pasta (₩19,000). A tomato pasta made with shrimp and mojo clams in a long-simmered tomato sauce.
Plump shrimp, mussels, and clams inside. The rich tomato sauce came with just a touch of spice — thumbs up 👍
