Namgajwa-dong hair salon: patchy hair to level 5 dark brown, Lian Hair

My sister's a hairdresser so she always did my hair, but this year she went off on a working holiday 😱

I was too lazy to find a new salon so I just let my patchy hair go, and it started looking really messy haha... So this time I went to Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2 near Myeongji University, and I was so happy with it that I wanted to write a review 🥹🫶🏻

I booked through Naver Reservation before visiting. Walk-ins can have some wait time, so I'd recommend booking ahead!! (I booked with Deputy Director Yeonju :))

It's located right in front of Myeongji University's Humanities Campus haha. I came from Hongdae and it was a quick bus ride

There's a comfortable waiting area set up on one side! Lots of couples came in and waited for each other~

I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there were quite a few customers. Especially a ton of guys getting down perms haha. I'd heard Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2 is a down perm hotspot 0 . 0 ..

Before: two years of patchy light brown hair

Here's the big before shot... You can see the patchy color right T. T Around two years ago I dyed it bright brown once, and after that, no matter how many times I toned it down, it kept getting brighter little by little..!

It looked even more patchy in natural light. This is exactly how it looked..? This photo is what made me go to the salon ^^

Level 5 dark brown consultation and price shown upfront

Full black doesn't suit me at all so I wanted a natural dark brown, and she showed me the colors in detail and consulted so kindly, I loved it haha. She said level 5 would be closest to what I wanted, so after that I left it entirely up to the deputy director haha

She showed me the price right there during the consultation too!! I'd been surprised before at another salon when the bill came out way higher than expected after the treatment was done.. so I was really grateful they told me the price upfront :)

There were membership perks too so I snapped a photo. Aren't these benefits great?!! Discounts plus extra discounts..! No reason not to sign up for membership..

Drinks, biscuits and the dyeing process at Lian Hair

During the treatment they prepared snacks too, with a choice of coffee or tea :)

I asked for iced tea haha. They also gave me some simple biscuits, which were so yummy,,

Deputy Director Yeonju applied the dye carefully all over my hair!! Her hands were super fast and super thorough, total dye-master energy..

I love shampoo time at the salon so much. A staff member washed my hair and it felt so refreshing I almost fell asleep.. How's the water temp~? Yes, absolute paradise

The finished dark brown color and blow-dry

You can see the color got noticeably darker!! I already loved it .. lol

Once my hair was dried, it came out exactly the color I wanted, so happy,, 🌷 My skin tone looked brighter too and it looked so neat, I loved it so much!

After that she asked if I had any plans coming up and styled the blow-dry accordingly haha. She's really good at blow-drying too,, my close friend's wedding is coming up soon so I'm thinking of getting a blow-dry there too > . <

So clean and neat looking!!! Hair really does complete the look,, I look so much more put-together .. & _ & I loved it so, so much haha

Did the dark brown fade after 10 days?

Exactly the red-free dark brown I wanted!! It's been about 10 days since I dyed it and it's holding up with no fading at all 🫶🏻 Please, hair, don't get any brighter . . ☆

On the way out: the turtle bead event

On the way out after paying, there were these super cute turtle beads ㅜㅜ so cute. There was glue set out next to them too, so I stuck a purple turtle onto my case haha. A purple turtle that grants wishes hahaha

Is Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2 worth it?

I was so, so happy with Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2!! Full 100% yes on visiting again :) Once my hair brightens up again I'll go back to dye it. Found myself a dye hotspot haha 🥹 They're apparently great for layered cuts and down perms too, besides dyeing! No wonder there were so many guys getting down perms haha. If you're looking for a hair salon near Myeongji University or in Namgajwa-dong, definitely give Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2 a visit. Highly recommend 👍🏻
