Dongtan lash perm for uneven eyes before a dress tour: Onyu Lash

Today I'm writing about the lash lift I got before my wedding dress tour. The place I visited was Onyu Lash!

I've had quite a few lash lifts done this year for various reasons, but this was hands-down the most meticulous work I've had — I was genuinely excited the whole time.

Can a lash perm lift uneven eyes with sparse lashes?

I only have a hooded double eyelid on one side and my eyes are asymmetrical, so on one eye my eyelid tends to swallow the lash lift. My lashes aren't very thick, the lengths are all over the place, and I barely have any lower lashes, so I was worried — but I was so happy with the results at Onyu Lash!

First, my right eye, where the hooded fold is more pronounced, lifted up beautifully and I loved it!

My left eye, where the fold is fainter and the lid tends to swallow the lashes, was handled with real expertise so it came out lifted as closely matched to the other side as possible!

Onyu Lash gives out a serum as a first-visit/repeat-visit service after treatment. Complete with a COS serum...

On top of that they give you a detailed care guide — I've been to shops before that don't even explain aftercare?!! Getting it written out like this is really such a nice touch.

And they also give you a brush to comb through your lashes after washing your face,

decorated with cute characters on top, which is another sign of how much care they put in — amazing. I picked the poop-kitty design, isn't it so cute??? hahaha

You all know how important aftercare is for keeping your lash curl looking good for as long as possible, right? 😊 Based on the guide card the shop gave me, here's a clean summary of the precautions and care tips!

What to avoid on the day of your lash perm

• Wait 4 hours before washing your face! To let the perm or extension glue fully set, keep the area dry for at least 4 hours.
• Avoid oil cleansers: it's best to skip eye makeup on the day of treatment, and oil-based cleansers can loosen the curl or weaken the adhesive. If you need to cleanse, use a cleansing water instead.

What to watch out for in the first 3–5 days

Avoiding saunas, jjimjilbang (Korean sauna), swimming pools, and sweaty workouts for about 3–5 days really helps the curl last longer.

Things you should never do after a lash perm

• Never rub your eyes or use an eyelash curler! The curl can get bent or the lashes damaged, so put the curler away for a while.
• Mascara is fine starting the day after treatment.

How to keep the lash curl looking good longer

• Lash serum is a must! Applying nourishing serum consistently after washing your face keeps the lashes healthy so the curl looks prettier and lasts longer.
• About the double-curl effect: since lashes grow on different cycles and vary in condition (healthy, damaged, or fine baby hairs), you might notice a slight double-curl look after a lift. This is completely natural, so no need to worry.
• Maintenance period: it usually lasts 4 to 8 weeks, and keeping up with nourishing serum can help it stay looking neat for even longer!
