In short

Le Garden Bleu is a Western restaurant on the 1st floor of KT&G Sejong Tower A on Hanuri-daero in Sejong. A chef with 16 years of experience, trained at Le Cordon Bleu, makes every sauce from scratch, and this visit covered mushroom soup (5,500 won), the salmon steak garden (18,500 won) and chicken puttanesca pasta, with free corkage. Those handmade sauces, a world away from restaurants that imitate Western food with bottled sauce, are the biggest reason to visit Le Garden Bleu.

Today I'm introducing a great restaurant in Sejong, Le Garden Bleu — and this isn't one of those places faking Western food with bottled sauce and simple cooking. They make every sauce from scratch and the cooking level was seriously impressive. Let's take a look!

Where Le Garden Bleu is in Sejong: hours and parking

Le Garden Bleu is on the 1st floor of KT&G Sejong Tower A, 411 Hanuri-daero, Sejong, South Korea. Hours are 11:00–21:00, with a break time from 14:50–17:30, closed on Sundays, and free parking at the building's underground lot.

Le Garden Bleu is located in KT&G Tower Sejong, and the same building has Nike, Olive Young, and several spa brand stores, so there's plenty to shop for — you can shop, eat, and grab coffee all in one building, which makes for a really great location.

Inside Le Garden Bleu: is it good for group gatherings?

Here's the interior of Le Garden Bleu, a French restaurant in Sejong. The interior was clean yet upscale, and with the warm lighting added on top, the atmosphere was really nice!

It's a great layout for a date or family meal, and the tables can also be pushed together, so it would be perfect for choosing as a gathering spot too.

Le Garden Bleu's menu and its free corkage policy

Let me get into the actual menu at Le Garden Bleu. There's a garden menu that packs flavor and nutrition onto one plate, along with well put-together set menus like the steak set and pizza set.

As I mentioned, this is a French restaurant in Sejong run by a chef with 16 years of Le Cordon Bleu experience, so Le Garden Bleu makes every sauce for every menu item themselves, and there are also plenty of special dishes you don't see at other Western restaurants — everything looked so good it was hard to pick!

On top of that, Le Garden Bleu has a solid drink menu with coffee, beer, wine, and even special drinks — and on top of all that, corkage is free!!

Mushroom soup, 5,500 won: a starter with deep mushroom flavour

Let me really dig into the menu now. For a starter, I ordered the mushroom soup (₩5,500)! You could tell right away it was going to be a rich, thick soup, and it came topped with freshly baked bread to dip in.

The soup was made by slowly simmering onion, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, cream, and butter — and the mushroom flavor came through so intensely that the moment I tasted it, I thought, wow, this soup alone is no joke.

Salmon steak garden, 18,500 won: what comes on the plate

Next up is the salmon steak garden (₩18,500). Raw salmon steak with Greek yogurt, avocado, carrot rapée, beets, hummus, salad leaves, lentils, oats, mushrooms, olives, and more — it was a menu absolutely packed with good-for-you ingredients, all on one plate.

The carrot rapée and beets perked up my appetite, and I also enjoyed the hummus's mild but nutty flavor.

Tasting the avocado and Greek yogurt too, I found each ingredient's individual character really appealing.

And the star of this dish! The raw salmon steak — since it's raw, not frozen, it truly melts in your mouth with an incredibly soft texture. It's delicious on its own, but eating it with the salad leaves cut through the richness perfectly, for a flavor that was a perfect 100-point balance!

Chicken puttanesca pasta and the texture of the chicken thigh steak

Next is the chicken puttanesca pasta — the unfamiliar, tricky name might throw you off, but each menu item has the ingredients listed in detail underneath, so you can actually pick based on your own taste instead of being swayed by the name.

First off, the chicken thigh steak on top of the pasta had insane texture and flavor!! It was completely crispy on the outside, yet the inside was so soft — honestly the best-quality chicken dish I've ever had!

The pasta itself was cooked so perfectly that from the first bite you could tell it was proper, high-quality pasta noodles cooked just right — and a bite of pasta together with the chicken thigh steak was pure bliss, haha.

The main reason to recommend Le Garden Bleu: sauces made from scratch

And here's the biggest reason I'm recommending this restaurant in Sejong — the handmade sauce! It's made with tomato, olives, and all sorts of ingredients, and the flavor and depth were on a completely different level from bottled sauce! It was so good I scraped up every last bit of sauce, haha.

So that's my very satisfying, delicious, upscale meal at Le Garden Bleu! If you're looking for a great French restaurant in Sejong, I really, really recommend you visit, haha.
