Budae jjigae (army stew) is one of my favorite go-to meals~ I was out in Seongsu when I heard about a spot that uses premium sausages and gives you unlimited millet rice and side dishes, so of course I had to check it out haha

What the Seongsu Station Exit 1 storefront looks like
Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae Seongsu Branch, a Seongsu budae jjigae favorite, is located right in front of Exit 1 of Seongsu Station! It's literally right there when you step out of the station, super accessible. There's parking available in front of the building too, but Seongsu gets pretty busy so I'd say public transit is the better option over driving haha
It's on the 2nd floor, so I headed up! Looked like there were a lot of foreign guests too. There was a sign written in multiple languages :)
Inside Songtan Jindaegwang: a retro dining room
Stepped inside~ It was really spacious and clean haha The atmosphere was retro through and through! Old songs were playing too, like Kim Gun-mo's 'Wrong Encounter.' I was bopping along to it ㅇㅅㅇ The retro concept and old songs work well together, but with so many foreign guests around, throwing in some recent idol songs might not be a bad idea either lol

The best thing about Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae Seongsu Branch, a Seongsu budae jjigae favorite! The rice is unlimited~ When I'm really hungry I can eat two bowls of rice lol With unlimited refills like this, it's just so great ㅠㅠㅠ Side dishes were also easy to refill as needed, and after the meal we got to enjoy free coffee, yogurt, and slushie. Such a variety of desserts ㅠㅠㅠㅠ solid solid

How the budae jjigae and firm ramen noodles tasted
The millet rice and basic side dishes came out! haha Why does the fish cake side dish at budae jjigae places always taste so good?
The moment I saw the budae jjigae, I just gasped! You can see how generously packed it is with sausage, ham and other ingredients, right? ㄷㄷ It looked amazing even before it started boiling ㅠㅠㅠ

Once the broth was at a good rolling boil, they dropped in the ramen noodle add-on!
I'm firmly on team chewy noodles haha They ladled broth over the ramen sari to let it soak and cook until moist, and flipped it every so often so it would cook evenly and deliciously haha
Budae jjigae just isn't complete without ramen sari ^^ Watching it cook up nicely! haha
They plated it before the noodles got mushy. I'm pretty picky as a self-proclaimed budae jjigae enthusiast, but this won me over! The rich, deep broth was outstanding ㅠㅠ It was so, so good ㅠㅠㅠ
There was tons of ham sari too, but the vegetables were also plentiful, so no matter how much you ate the ingredients just kept coming ㅠㅠ Mixed with rice, it's absolute honey~! haha
It was great to enjoy budae jjigae generously loaded with premium sausage and ham, along with unlimited millet rice and side dishes. Adding the ramen sari made it even more filling, and being able to enjoy such a variety of desserts after the meal was really satisfying. This was my honest review of Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae, so tasty I'd want to come back if I'm ever looking for a hearty lunch in Seongsu :)
