Seongsu late-night café: iced matcha latte before closing at T Coffee

In short

T Coffee is a basement café and dessert shop at 159 Achasan-ro, a short walk from Seongsu Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Arriving an hour before closing, I ordered an iced matcha latte and a chocolate sand cookie, and even with plenty of customers the room stayed calm, with staff carrying each order to the table. T Coffee is a good choice in Seongsu when you want laptop work and a quiet dessert break at the same time.

A good-vibe café near Seongsu Station A coffee and dessert spot worth recommending

Where is T Coffee near Seongsu Station? The stairs down to the basement

I visited T Coffee, a good-vibe café near Seongsu Station~ Honestly Seongsu gets so crowded these days that you have to be careful, but that's exactly why there are so many hotspots and I keep ending up back here! Anyway the store is on the basement floor, so you go down a set of stairs to get in.

Walking slowly down the stairs, the store entrance appears right away, and the space had that unmistakable Seongsu mood packed into it.

Once inside, a bright, pleasant interior opened up. It was wider than I expected, with plenty of seats.

Why T Coffee stayed quiet an hour before closing

I visited about an hour before closing and there were still quite a lot of customers — that's how much of a Seongsu hotspot café feeling it had.

Even so, the relaxed, quiet atmosphere stood out. It's apparently already well known as a good café in Seongsu for laptop work or studying.

The staff were kind too, which made it even nicer to hang out in. I quickly headed to the counter to order first.

What I ordered at T Coffee: iced matcha latte and chocolate sand cookie

T Coffee is known as a Seongsu dessert spot, but I heard the coffee is good too. There were also several other drinks on the menu, so it was hard to pick.

I was debating a café latte, but since it was getting late I ordered an iced matcha latte instead. I definitely want to try the coffee next time.

There were also various dessert samples on display — visually they grabbed my attention right away, giving off quite a luxe feel.

I'd had a big dinner and was already full, but you can't come to a dessert café and not order something, right? So I ordered one choco sand cookie.

After ordering I sat down and waited a bit — they told me the items would be brought straight to my table.

So all I had to do was sit comfortably and wait. It's the kind of quiet Seongsu café I'd want to come back to for laptop work next time.

I actually saw a lot of people working, too. Seongsu cafés are usually loud, buzzing hotspots, but this one sits a bit further off the main street, so the calm, relaxed atmosphere really worked for me.

Even as a basement café, the window view was surprisingly good. Overall it's a clean, pleasant store that seems great to visit anytime.

A little while later, the drink and dessert arrived together~ The pairing was so good I was glad I'd ordered them together.

As mentioned, the drink was the iced matcha latte and the dessert was the choco sand cookie. Sand cookies are everywhere these days, but it's not easy to find a place that actually does them well.

But this place's sand cookie was actually good, which made it even more satisfying. It wasn't tiny, but a size you could eat lightly without feeling weighed down.

The outside wasn't hard, and there was moist cream tucked inside — a sweet sand cookie that went nicely alongside the drink.

And the matcha latte was great to sip alongside the sweet dessert~ I picked it instead of coffee since it was late, and its clean, mellow flavor was even better for it.

Closing time was close so I had to head out quickly, but it's a place I'd like to linger in longer next time. That's it for this review of T Coffee, a good-vibe, laptop-friendly dessert café near Seongsu Station.
