Gyodae gimbap restaurant with kiosk ordering and extra chicken: Halls
In short
Halls Gimbap Main Branch is a gimbap and dakgangjeong (Korean sweet crispy fried chicken) restaurant a short walk from Gyodae Station Exit 1 in Seocho, Seoul. For a solo lunch the writer ordered the Halls dakgangjeong set and added a size-S dakgangjeong on top; served hot, the chicken was crisp outside and juicy inside, closer to a full meal than a snack. With kiosk ordering, solo seats and hours from 8:30 to 20:00, Halls Gimbap Main Branch works well for a quick weekday lunch near Gyodae Station.

I was looking for somewhere simple to have lunch around Gyodae and ended up at Halls Gimbap Main Branch :) There are a lot of office workers around Gyodae Station, so I'm always on the hunt for a quick lunch spot. This place doesn't just sell gimbap (seaweed rice roll) — you can get dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) too, so it's perfect when you want a really filling meal. Hope this review helps! ✨

Where is Halls Gimbap Main Branch near Gyodae Station, and what's on the menu?
Halls Gimbap Main Branch is an easy walk from Exit 1 of Gyodae Station, which makes it convenient for lunch around there. You can take out, get delivery, or eat in. Halls Gimbap has a wide range — from plain gimbap to wasabi gimbap, spam gimbap, double cheese egg gimbap, Jindo green onion tuna gimbap, and konjac water-parsley gimbap. But the menu I really had my eye on was the dakgangjeong! Halls dakgangjeong comes in S and L sizes, and there are several set menus that pair it with gimbap.

This time I ordered
- Halls dakgangjeong set
- Halls dakgangjeong S
That's what I went with!

What comes in the Halls dakgangjeong set: gimbap and chicken together
First up, the Halls dakgangjeong set! It combines Halls gimbap with dakgangjeong, so it's perfect if you want both gimbap and fried chicken. Gimbap alone can sometimes feel like it's missing something, but with dakgangjeong added it turned into a way more satisfying meal.

Adding a size-S dakgangjeong: taste and how the S and L sizes compare
And then I got greedy and added a Halls dakgangjeong S on top haha. If you like dakgangjeong, stopping at just the set feels like leaving something on the table... Eaten while hot, the chicken has that crispy-outside, juicy-inside texture that makes it feel more like a proper meal than a snack. The sauce is sweet and salty, so it goes well with gimbap but is also great eaten on its own. Since the dakgangjeong comes in S and L separately, I'd say order S if you're eating alone or sharing lightly with one other person, and L if there's a group.

Why Halls Gimbap Main Branch works for a solo lunch near Gyodae Station
The reason I'd recommend Halls Gimbap for solo dining near Gyodae Station is that the menu isn't overwhelming. You can just get gimbap, add dakgangjeong, or order the gimbap-plus-chicken set — you can mix and match depending on your appetite and situation. The store also has seating that's comfortable for eating alone, and since ordering is done through a kiosk, there's not much pressure going in solo. It's great for office worker lunches near Gyodae Station, and also good when you're short on time and need to eat fast. The menu also travels well for takeout to eat at home or the office, so if you're near Gyodae and craving gimbap or dakgangjeong, it's worth a visit.

Which gimbap to try next at Halls Gimbap
This is a versatile spot near Gyodae Station — good for solo dining, easy for a quick office lunch, and convenient for takeout too. The gimbap was packed with vegetables, so it felt filling without being heavy. Next time I want to try other gimbap options. I'm especially curious about the double cheese egg gimbap and the Jindo green onion tuna gimbap, so I'm planning to try those on my next visit 😆 Being able to order a small portion of the sweet dakgangjeong also made it easy to try without much commitment. If you want both gimbap and dakgangjeong near Gyodae, I'd recommend Halls Gimbap Main Branch! It's great for solo dining, and a good lunch option for office workers or students around Gyodae too~
