Yeouido izakaya second round: soju, yakisoba and tantan nabe at Nani

I went to Nani Yeouido Branch, an izakaya with genuinely great views among Yeouido bars! Honestly this is a spot I visit all the time — the atmosphere is so, so good, the view is great, and the food is delicious too, so it's perfect for a date haha. Let me share our after-work couple date review here~~!!

Where is Nani Yeouido Branch and how do you get there?

Nani Yeouido Branch is a Yeouido bar located in the S-TRENUE Building right near Yeouido Station~ It's a building you can see as soon as you come out of Exit 3 of Yeouido Station, so it takes less than 5 minutes from the station and is super easy to find!!

That's why it's a very, very popular izakaya among office workers in the area. That day we'd had a drink for round one, and wanted a second round with good food and drinks in a nice atmosphere, so we booked ahead and visited.

Curtained tables and window views: the mood at Nani Yeouido Branch

Inside it's just the right amount of dim, with soft lighting, so the vibe is really great. Most of the tables have curtains so you can enjoy things privately, and if you sit by the window the Yeouido view is insane, making it a perfect spot for a date!

The staff were all so friendly too, which kept me in a good mood the whole time.

There are lots of window seats and they all have great views, so I think whenever there's fireworks or an event happening in Yeouido, being at Nani would let you catch a great view too! That day we sat by the window and had a fun date looking out at the Yeouido scenery~~

What to order from the Nani Yeouido Branch menu

Here's the menu at Nani, the Yeouido izakaya with the great view! It's an izakaya but it's not just Japanese food — they also have special dishes like lamb shoulder rack and hamburg steak, plus a variety of Japanese dishes like sashimi and tempura. There's also a wide range of drinks like shochu and sake, so you can enjoy whatever suits your taste~! We'd been drinking soju already so we ordered soju, plus yakisoba and beef brisket tantan nabe (hot pot) for food.

First the basic side dishes came out, and they weren't just plain rice crackers but thoughtfully chosen bites, good for a palate cleanser before the meal or for a light drink.

And then the yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) appeared! It was my first time ordering yakisoba at a bar, and I was surprised how generously loaded with ingredients and how high quality it was. The bonito flakes on top were dancing away, and the smell alone made me want to dig in right away haha.

The salty-savory, umami sauce soaked so well into the noodles that it was incredibly delicious, and the meat pieces inside were big and plentiful, giving it great texture too. The harmony of ingredients was excellent, so we ate it very happily! Yeouido bars are usually visited by people who come straight from work without dinner, and in that situation this yakisoba is a perfect dish to order to fill your stomach before drinking.

Beef brisket tantan nabe: how spicy is the broth?

The beef brisket tantan nabe (hot pot) also came out quickly, and it was nicely generous too. I wanted something more special than the usual predictable soup dishes you get at bars, so I ordered this tantan nabe I'd never seen before — and beyond the visuals, the taste was so good that I really felt I'd ordered well.

As expected, they put in a generous amount of meat and various other ingredients, so fishing them out to eat was a lot of fun. And the broth was really rich and delicious. Being a tantan nabe, it had a nuttier, deeper flavor, and with so much meat in it the flavor really came through, making it a broth you kept spooning up. The food was so tasty that it kept making us want more to drink, and before we knew it we'd kept ordering more soju at Nani Yeouido Branch!

Would we go back to Nani Yeouido Branch? Final verdict
