Namwirye shabu-shabu buffet and a Starfield day out: Dadam

I was trying to figure out where to go for a weekend meal and all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu popped into my head, so I headed to Dadam Shabu Shabu Wolnamssam Wirye Branch, a Namwirye Station favorite. There's a Starfield nearby too, so I figured eating first and then browsing Starfield would be perfect. Weekday dinner and holiday pricing is ₩21,900 for adults, which gets you unlimited veggies, beef and everything shabu-shabu, so the price was reasonable and great. As expected, lots of families with kids, and plenty of groups of friends or couples too.

How to find Dadam Shabu Shabu near Namwirye Station, and where to park

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is in room 305 on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza, and you can use the building's basement parking lot free for up to 3 hours. We drove, and since the parking lot is right in the basement, parking wasn't a hassle at all. We visited for weekend lunch, and there were plenty of open seats too.

Take the elevator connected to the basement parking lot up to the 3rd floor and you'll find Dadam Shabu Shabu right there.

Everything at the restaurant is self-serve. Just so you know, your time is limited to 2 hours if there are guests waiting, and leaving food behind means a ₩5,000 environmental fee.

Inside Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye: interior and seating

The interior at this Namwirye favorite is spacious, the partitions between tables are nice and tall, and the tables themselves are wide, so it was comfortable to eat. It's not quite a private room, but there are seating areas that feel fairly private. There are floor-to-ceiling windows too, so the open view was really nice.

There's really just one menu item — the all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu — and pricing differs by age group across weekday lunch, dinner time and holidays. Takeout is also good value; you could take the broth home and use up vegetables or frozen leftovers in your fridge with it.

What is on the self-bar: shabu vegetables, rice-paper wraps, kalguksu and porridge

At the self-bar of this Wirye shabu-shabu spot, you can help yourself to as many shabu vegetables and wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice-paper wrap) ingredients as you like. Everything is kept really fresh, so it tasted great naturally. There's kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and tofu noodles too!

Porridge is also included in the all-you-can-eat and set up for self-service. There's ice cream and coffee too, so you can eat them separately or combine them to make a dessert like affogato.

Usamgyeopsal, umokshim beef and the half-and-half seafood and spicy broth

Unlimited usamgyeopsal (beef short rib slices) and umokshim (beef neck)~ Personally, I found the usamgyeopsal tastier since it has more fat, giving it a softer texture.

We ordered half-and-half broth, going with seafood broth and spicy broth. We piled on vegetables and put them in with the meat, and the colors turned out so pretty~

We also brought over wolnamssam ingredients. Dip the rice paper in hot water, then wrap it around the shabu-shabu meat and vegetables and dip it in sauce — the chewy wrap and all the ingredients coming together is just so, so good.

Finishing with kalguksu and porridge, plus an affogato for dessert

We were completely full, but we couldn't give up the kalguksu and porridge haha. We put kalguksu noodles into the seafood broth and made porridge with the spicy broth. The broth, simmered long with all the vegetables and meat, was delicious as expected.

This Wirye shabu-shabu favorite even takes care of dessert with ice cream and coffee afterward. I made an affogato, and it really tasted just like Deowisanyang (a Korean melona-style ice bar).

The ice cream was so good that I scooped some into a cone to take with me on the way out haha. This was such a great spot for a weekend family meal — Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch, a Namwirye Station favorite. I'd definitely recommend it as a place worth revisiting.
