Today I visited <Kkamon CÀMON>, a lunch spot near Jeongja Station. From pho packed with a whole pork backbone to crispy-outside-juicy-inside side dishes — this is a place that's won over Korean palates, and I'm here to introduce it!

Kkamon Jeongja Direct Store is located on the first floor of The Sharp Star Park in Jeongja-dong. With 2 hours of building parking available and close to the subway station, accessibility is a big thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

"We sell pho" — a very to-the-point sign, but you can tell at a glance it's a Vietnamese restaurant! I heard the name CÀMON (thank you) is also Vietnamese, so I was full of anticipation even before going in.

The interior carries the same exotic mood as the exterior. Thanks to the decor that captures a local feel, it has a different atmosphere from your average pho shop! Eating in a place like this makes the food taste even better.

Seating and reservations at Kkamon: does it work for a weekday lunch?

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store has plenty of seating, making it a great lunch spot near Jeongja. And especially for office workers whose time matters, they've opened a reservation service too! If time is money for you, definitely book ahead. [* Naver reservation, 4–10 people, by the hour]

It's casual yet tidy, so it also seemed like an easy pick for a date course near Jeongja Station.

Whoa, sounds like I'm calling it a date spot, but isn't the window-seat vibe amazing?? Go quick before the summer greenery fades.

Soaking up plenty of sunlight, it's also really nice for solo dining in Bundang.

The kitchen is open, so you can see the cooking happening right in front of you. A place you can trust for hygiene too, haha.

Utensils, pickled onions, pickled radish, and pickled chili are all set up at the self-serve bar, so take as much as you need.

Hoisin sauce and sriracha are on the table! Orders are placed via the tablet on the table too.

Kkamon pho, 11,000 won: how was the broth?

First up, Kkamon's signature pho has a clear-looking broth loaded generously with meat, bean sprouts, and noodles. Filling enough on its own to look like a solid meal.

I took a sip of the broth first, and it's rich yet clean-tasting. Made by simmering beef shank and brisket for a long time, the umami is fully alive while the finish stays really clean!

Even I, who's not great with Southeast Asian food, was too busy slurping it down with my head practically in the bowl. Something about it — it definitely nails the Korean palate! ⭐️ A Vietnamese place with universal appeal.

If you want to enjoy it more variedly, dip it in the sauce on the table! Adding sauce really brings out the umami, so you can customize even within a single bowl.

Pork backbone pho, 13,000 won: the second bowl to order for two

My partner ordered the pork backbone pho, and just seeing the huge chunks of pork backbone, I knew it couldn't be anything but delicious ♡

It's cooked so thoroughly that the meat falls off the bone with just a light touch of the chopsticks, haha. The tender meat combined with the rich broth makes it totally filling. It's hearty enough without adding extra noodles, so if you're visiting as two, I recommend the basic plus backbone combo!

Fried chicken wings, 6 pieces for 8,000 won: the side to get at Kkamon

The fried chicken wings are a must-order side. The batter is thin yet crispy, and the meat inside stays juicy — pure love.

It pairs perfectly with beer and has a flavor kids would love too, making it great for a family meal out!

Good for a hearty meal all the way through to a drink alongside it, haha.
